Match Preview

Naysmith set for Terriers start Huddersfield defender Gary Naysmith could return to the starting line-up for the home game with Swindon. Scotland international Naysmith has spent most of the season battling injury, missing five months due to a foot problem and then missing out more recently with a calf problem after returning in February. New loan signing Danny Ward, from Bolton, is hoping to make his first start for the club after stepping off the bench in the midweek win at Brentford, but manager Lee Clark has leading goalscorer Jordan Rhodes, on-loan Arsenal teenager Benik Afobe, Lee Novak, Danny Cadamarteri and Alan Lee to choose from up front. Winger Anthony Pilkington (ankle/leg) and midfielder Damien Johnson (knee) are out for the rest of the season, while defender Antony Kay is recovering from ankle ligament damage. Defender Lee Peltier will sit out the final game of his four-match ban. Swindon boss Paul Hart has received plenty of positive injury news. The struggling Robins welcome back goalkeeper David Lucas who has missed the last two matches due to an arm infection. He will now fight it out with Phil Smith for the nod from Hart. Full-back Alan Sheehan was struggling with a tight hamstring during last weekend`s 1-1 draw with Dagenham but managed to continue and is okay to feature at the Galpharm Stadium. Centre-back Scott Cuthbert, who took a knock to his eye/cheekbone, should also make it, although he will still see a specialist next week. New loan signing Alassane N'Diaye is in the squad travelling to Yorkshire although he is lacking match sharpness and may not yet be considered ready to start. Striker Vincent Pericard has had an operation on his troublesome knee injury and, despite remaining on the sidelines, could be back in training next week.

Match Report

Terriers denied by resilient Robins Huddersfield were denied a winner three times in stoppage time as battling Swindon held on for a goalless draw. The Terriers twice saw shots cleared off the line and also saw striker Alan Lee hit the crossbar. Substitute Lee rattled the woodwork in the second minute of stoppage time from a Kevin Kilbane cross. Seconds later Peter Clarke had an effort hacked off the line in a goalmouth scramble and right at the death Swindon's David Prutton earned a point for the visitors by clearing Jamie McCombe's header. Striker Jordan Rhodes also hit the bar with a header in the first half as Huddersfield equalled an 86-year-old club record. A draw extends Town's unbeaten run to 17 League games, matching a record set in 1925. Swindon though nearly won it themselves when Matt Ritchie hit the post from Calvin Andrew's pull back. Swindon defended stoutly throughout. Jonathan Douglas cleared a Clarke header off the line on 29 minutes while Andy Frampton twice made goal-saving tackles to deny Scott Arfield and Gary Roberts. Roberts was also denied when Swindon keeper David Lucas brilliantly tipped his stinging 20-yard drive away. Huddersfield keeper Alex Smithies, largely a spectator throughout, stayed alert to tip over the bar a curling free kick from Alan Sheehan.
