Rhodes doubt for Terriers Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes is rated 50/50 for his side's opening home league fixture against Nottingham Forest. Rhodes returned from international duty with a hamstring strain last week after scoring on his senior Scotland debut in the win over Australia and missed Huddersfield's 1-0 defeat at Cardiff last Friday night. Summer signing Sean Scannell made his league debut for Town at Cardiff and is likely to continue alongside Lee Novak if Rhodes fails to make it. Winger Danny Ward missed Huddersfield's opening game due to an ankle injury and is not expected to feature against Forest, while midfielder Oscar Gobern, who also sat out the Cardiff defeat, is still struggling with a knock. Defenders Joel Lynch and Paul Dixon, plus midfielders Adam Clayton, Keith Southern and Oliver Norwood, all made their league debuts for Simon Grayson's side on Friday, while centre-half Anthony Gerrard appeared as a late substitute and is hoping to play a bigger role. Defender Daniel Ayala could come into the Nottingham Forest squad. Ayala, signed on a season-long loan deal from Norwich over the summer, missed the npower Championship curtain-raiser against Bristol City at the City Ground on Saturday with a hip flexor injury. But the centre-back could play a part at the John Smith's Stadium on Tuesday night. Manager Sean O'Driscoll has no fresh injury concerns. Simon Gillett started the 1-0 victory against the Robins after missing the Capital One Cup win at Fleetwood with a knock and the versatile Chris Cohen is training again after his long-term knee injury. Striker Simon Cox made his Forest debut from the bench at the weekend, replacing Lewis McGugan midway through the second half, and the big summer signing from West Brom could be pushing for a starting place in West Yorkshire. Huddersfield could include former Red Joel Lynch, who left the City Ground during the close season after his contract expired.
