Match Preview
Grayson's group in good health Huddersfield manager Simon Grayson will select his side from an unchanged squad for the home game with Hartlepool. Club skipper Peter Clarke and midfielder Tommy Miller both remain sidelined as they continue to recover from respective hernia operations, but Grayson has no new injury or suspension worries. Alan Lee made way for returning striker Jordan Rhodes for Saturday's 3-3 draw at Bury, and the latter promptly struck his 31st and 32nd goals of the season after missing out last Tuesday due to Scotland Under-21s commitments. Rhodes is expected to continue alongside Lee Novak up front for Town, but Grayson may consider some changes after seeing his side surrender a three-goal lead at the weekend. Defender Calum Woods, midfielder Oscar Gobern and winger Gary Roberts all stepped off the substitutes' bench at the weekend and are pushing for a place in the starting line-up. Huddersfield have drawn their last two matches and trail second-placed Sheffield United by five points. Hartlepool will be without Gary Liddle, Luke James and new loan signing Samuel Asjei. Midfielder Liddle is still struggling with the calf injury that has kept him out of the last three matches and teenager James has failed to shake off a back injury after missing the last two games. Fellow striker Asjei has returned to parent club Newcastle after sustaining a hamstring injury on his debut for Pools, a 1-1 draw with MK Dons on Saturday. Another forward, James Poole, replaced by Asjei early in the second half against the Dons, will be in contention after returning to the side for the first time in over two months at the weekend following a hamstring problem. Pools are currently in ninth place, seven points adrift of a play-off spot.

Match Report
Lee spares Town's blushes Huddersfield substitute Alan Lee plundered an unlikely winner for Huddersfield as Hartlepool were edged out 1-0 in a dour contest. Veteran striker Lee, who cleaned new Town boss Simon Grayson's boots in their playing days at Aston Villa, fired in from Joey Gudjonsson's pass in the 75th minute. Lee had entered the contest 13 minutes earlier and sparked the game into life after an hour devoid of action and when the Terriers did get out of first gear, they found Pools goalkeeper Scott Flinders in solid form. He first tipped over Antony Kay's flicked effort and then saved Danny Ward's shot. Flinders also did well to beat away a goalbound header from Jordan Rhodes early on, while at the other end it took until 67 minute before the visitors mustered a shot at goal. But Hartlepool did rally late on and nearly levelled when Antony Sweeney saw his shot tipped on to the post by Huddersfield goalkeeper Alex Smithies. Academy product Smithies was also alert in the last minute to make a double stop, first from Sweeney and then Adam Boyd, which was ruled off-side.
