Match Preview

Pilkington blow for Terriers Huddersfield will be without winger Anthony Pilkington for their FA Cup first-round replay with Cambridge. Pilkington passed a late fitness test ahead of Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Oldham, but pulled up shortly before half-time and was replaced by Scott Arfield. Arfield was one of few players to impress at Oldham on Saturday and is expected to start in Pilkington's absence. Winger Gary Roberts, who started on the bench as he works his way back from a broken arm, is also pushing for a start. Manager Lee Clark has no other new injury or suspension problems for the clash with Cambridge, who earned a replay at the Galpharm Stadium following a goalless draw at the Abbey Stadium 10 days ago. Long-term absentees Gary Naysmith (foot), Tom Clarke (knee) and Lee Novak (hamstring) are still out. Cambridge manager Martin Ling is set to welcome back player-coach Paul Carden. Carden had been struggling with a bad back that led to a tight hamstring and he missed the 2-2 draw with Kettering at the weekend. But he has been passed fit and is available to face Lee Clark's men. Conal Platt also missed Saturday's game after suffering from an ankle injury but is likely to play, while Brain Saah is unavailable for selection having not recovered from a double hernia operation yet. Daryl Clare is ruled out with a broken finger picked up in training, while on-loan Alex Stavrinou is ineligible after parent club Charlton refused to let him play and risk him being cup-tied for the rest of the competition.

Match Report

Roberts rescues Terriers Fit-again winger Gary Roberts scored one and made the other in stoppage time as Huddersfield mounted an unlikely FA Cup comeback to beat minnows Cambridge 2-1 in a first-round replay at the Galpharm Stadium. The Terriers were 1-0 down to the Conference side in the first minute of stoppage time when Roberts, just back from a broken arm, swung over a corner from the right. It was only half-cleared and it fell to Lee Peltier on the edge of the box, with the full-back smashing in the equaliser through a crowded penalty area. Roberts then snatched victory with just seconds to go by blasting into the roof of the net from close range after Benik Afobe laid off a cross from Jordan Rhodes into his path. It completed a stunning resurrection for Huddersfield, who seemed down and out after Cambridge midfielder Rory McAuley headed the visitors into the lead from a James Jennings corner. Huddersfield were lethargic throughout and only came to life in the last 10 minutes. Up to then Cambridge dominated, with Wayne Gray, David Partridge and Paul Carden going close.
