Match Preview

Rhodes in Terriers frame Huddersfield's leading goalscorer Jordan Rhodes is expected to return to the starting line-up for the home clash with Brentford. The 22-goal striker stepped off the substitutes' bench in last week's win at Brighton but is likely to be recalled as manager Lee Clark reverts back to a 4-4-2 formation. Clark has no new injury or suspension problems as Town look to extend their club-record unbeaten league run to 25 matches but he must decide who will make way should Rhodes return to partner Benik Afobe up front. Winger Anthony Pilkington (leg/ankle), midfielder Damien Johnson (knee ligaments), defender Liam Ridehalgh (foot) and goalkeeper Alex Smithies (knee) all remain sidelined. Ridehalgh, initially expected to miss five games, could return for the play-offs. Charlie MacDonald will not be risked despite Brentford's injury problems. The 10-goal striker has been sidelined for two months after damaging ankle ligaments against Brighton in March. MacDonald returned to full training on Wednesday but boss Nicky Forster has still ruled him out of the trip north. Gary Alexander is out with a knee injury so Lewis Grabban and Jeffrey Schlupp, Forster's only two fit strikers, will be paired up front again. Craig Woodman (metatarsal) and Pim Balkestein (ankle) are set to miss out again but fellow defender Leon Legge could return after a groin injury. Youngster Simon Moore continues in goal with regular number one Richard Lee still on the sidelines with a shoulder injury.

Match Report

Schlupp at the double in eight-goal thriller Striker Jeff Schlupp scored twice and made another as Brentford battled back from two goals down to earn a point from a 4-4 thriller at Huddersfield. Huddersfield's Danny Ward also scored two goals and created his side`s other two strikes, but the impressive individual effort was overshadowed by a stunning come back from the Bees. Ward, on-loan from Bolton, struck with a solo effort into the bottom right corner in the 14th minute and hen found the net again after Brentford goalkeeper Simon Moore fumbled his powerful drive. Schlupp, on-loan from Leicester, gave Brentford hope in first-half stoppage time when he raced onto a long punt from deep and slotted home. He then levelled soon after the restart from Myles Weston's through ball but substitute Lee Novack blasted Town back in front only for Lewis Grabban to make it 3-3 on 58 minutes after Huddersfield keeper Ian Bennett mis-kicked an attempted clearance straight to him. Ward, who has now scored three goals in two games, set-up Venik Asobe for a close-range finish on 63 minutes but Grabban levelled again when he tapped in from Schlupp's final pass.
