Match Preview
Bruce set for Terriers bow Huddersfield defender Alex Bruce could make his debut for the club in the home game against Bournemouth. Bruce, a recent loan signing from Leeds, was an unused substitute in Town's last match, a 2-0 defeat at Charlton. Striker Jon Parkin, another recent loan signing, from Cardiff, is hoping to make his first home league appearance for the Terriers after making his debut at Charlton in place of the suspended Alan Lee, who will sit out the second of a three-match ban. Manager Lee Clark has no other new injury or suspension problems and is unlikely to make any unforced changes as his side look to bounce back from their first league defeat in 44 games at Charlton. Goalkeeper Alex Smithies remains a long-term absentee following knee surgery. Town, who set a new Football League record of 43 games unbeaten last month, are currently in third place in the table, a point behind second-placed Sheffield Wednesday and eight adrift of leaders Charlton. Bournemouth manager Lee Bradbury faces a selection dilemma. Bradbury welcomes Shaun Cooper and Shaun McDonald (groin) back into contention after the midfield duo recovered from their respective knocks, and the Cherries boss has no new injury worries ahead of the trip to the Terriers. Midfielder Joe Partington remains sidelined with a back problem, while defender Mathieu Baudry is out with a hamstring niggle and both players are not expected to return to first-team action for a fortnight. On-loan full-back Nathan Byrne has resumed light running following surgery on an ankle tendon injury, but the Tottenham youngster will not be involved in first-team affairs until the new year at the earliest. The Cherries return north to the scene of their heart-breaking penalty shoot-out defeat in last season`s play-off semi-final.

Match Report
Arter spoils Clark's day Harry Arter ruined Lee Clark's third anniversary as Huddersfield boss as Bournemouth won 1-0 at the Galpharm Stadium. Midfielder Arter struck the only goal in the 19th minute to inflict back-to-back defeats on the record-breaking Terriers. Town's history-making 43-match unbeaten run was ended two weeks ago by Charlton and this defeat was a first at home since Boxing Day last year. Wesley Thomas set up the winner when he collected a ball down the right channel, beating Calum Woods. As debutant Alex Bruce, on loan from Leeds, came across to cover, Thomas kept his cool to pick out the unmarked Arter who fired home from the centre of the box. Marc Pugh's brilliant reverse pass then set up Simon Francis but his shot crashed into the side netting and Town keeper Ian Bennett produced a superb tip-over to deny Scott Malone. Town's misery was compounded as right-back Jack Hunt was carried off with a suspected fractured ankle.
