Match Report

Swansea City missed the chance to go second when they let a two-goal lead slip away.

If Chris Brandon had converted a second-half penalty it could even have been worse for the Swans.

Lee Trundle was back in their starting line-up after being out injured since the victory at Nottingham Forrest.

David Graham strode into the home penalty area in the third minute with only Willy Gueret to beat, but the Swans keeper stood tall and blocked a weak shot.

Swansea went straight down the other end and Phil Senior had to grasp a fierce drive from Leon Britton.

The Swans went ahead in the 19th minute thanks to the returning Trundle, who dragged his shot across the keeper for his 19th goal of the season after the visiting defenders had allowed the ball to run into the danger area.

More slack defending on the stroke of half-time helped Swansea double their lead. Britton was allowed time and space to hammer a shot beyond Senior, after the Terriers keeper had kept out a fine effort from Kevin McLeod.

Huddersfield were thrown a lifeline in the 50th minute when they were awarded a penalty after a blatant dive by Graham.

Brandon's spot-kick hit the bar and came down onto the line before the ball was cleared.

Out of the blue, Town pulled a goal back when Martin McIntosh headed in from a corner in the 70th minute.

Three minutes later Andy Robinson struck the crossbar with Senior beaten as play switched from end to end.

Back came the Terriers and in the 81st minute Graham had an easy tap-in to level the score after McIntosh had crossed low into the danger area.

The Terriers finished the stronger and it was Swansea hanging on as the final whistle blew.
