Gobern back for Terriers Huddersfield midfielder Oscar Gobern could be included in the squad for the first time this season for the visit of league leaders Cardiff. Gobern, sidelined since undergoing ankle surgery in the summer, has been back in training for several weeks and may be in contention for his first appearance of the season, while striker James Vaughan is expected to recover from concussion in time. Defender Joel Lynch, who has missed the last six games due to a hamstring injury, is also expected back in the squad, as is midfielder Chris Atkinson (thigh). But the good news stops there for caretaker managers Mark Lillis and Steve Eyre. Winger Danny Ward (broken metatarsal), midfielder Keith Southern (Achilles) and striker Jermaine Beckford (hamstring) are all definitely out and forward Lee Novak (toe), midfielder Oliver Norwood (bruised foot) and defender Peter Clarke (concussion) are doubtful. Cardiff will assess their four returning internationals. Wales' Craig Bellamy, Scotland's David Marshall, South Korea's Kim Bo-Kyung and Iceland's Aron Gunnarsson will be involved if they came through their midweek excursions unscathed as City look to record back-to-back victories in Yorkshire. Their 1-0 win at Elland Road last weekend means that in their last six away games the Bluebirds have taken 19 points from a possible 21. Fraizer Campbell stepped off the bench to fire Cardiff 10 points clear at the top of the npower Championship and the England international is pushing for a place in Malky Mackay's starting line-up. Cardiff captain Mark Hudson scored a last-gasp winner when the sides last met on the opening day of the season.
