Match Report

On-loan goalkeeper Chris Weale was the Yeovil Town hero as they came from two down to pick up a precious point in their battle to avoid relegation from League One.

He moved up for a corner in the fourth minute of stoppage time and met the flag-kick from Kieran Murtagh superbly to power a header into the roof of the Hereford United net.

It was a career first for the 27-year old keeper who started out with Yeovil in their non-League days, but is now on loan from Bristol City, having also had two loan spells with the Bulls.

Yeovil were unlucky in the fourth minute when Paul Warne shot against the foot of a post and their luck took a turn for the worse on 27 minutes, when bottom-of-the-League Hereford took the lead through Jennison Myrie-Williams. He was on the spot to turn in Steve Guinan's cross.

Most of the drama came in the second half. In the 58th minute Yeovil were awarded a penalty when Gavin Tomlin was fouled by Sam Gwynne who was lucky to escape with a yellow card.

The spot-kick was entrusted to Spurs loanee Andros Townsend and he blasted over the bar.

Yeovil paid the penalty for this miss two minutes later when slack marking gave Guinan a goal, but Yeovil launched a furious finale and pulled one back on 78 minutes when Luke Rodgers, on as a substitute, provided a neat finish from a cross by Andy Welsh.

Superb goalkeeping by Peter Gulacsi kept out goal-bound shots from several Yeovil players, the best from Lee Peltier as the game went into stoppage time.

However, he had no chance with the Weale header that sent Yeovil's fans home happy.
