Hereford celebrated their promotion to League One by rounding off their campaign with a victory.
Goals from skipper Ben Smith and Theo Robinson ensured that the promotion party did not go flat.
The game itself started in a scrappy manner and neither side managed a shot inside the first 20 minutes.Simon Johnson was the first to get in an effort on goal but his long-range drive went a couple of yards wide.Ryan Esson marked his Hereford debut with an excellent save on 24 minutes, diving to turn away a 20-yard drive from Danny Boshell which was destined for the corner of the net.
But Hereford gradually got a foothold in the game and deservedly took the lead on 35 minutes.Steve Guinan's pass released Kris Taylor whose crisp first-time pass was rifled into the net by Bulls skipper Smith.
Esson saved Hereford again after a horrid back-pass by Toumani Diagouraga let in Danny North before Hereford extended their lead four minutes from the break.
Taylor was again the provider with a neat pass to leading scorer Robinson, who easily beat goalkeeper Phil Barnes for his 13th league goal of the season.
Hereford pressed strongly at the start of the second period and a rash of corners almost produced a third goal.
Robinson, who was a constant danger, forced an excellent save from Barnes before Tom Newey nodded Taylor's follow-up header off the line.
Another excellent stop from Barnes foiled Robinson in the closing stages.
At the end of the match, after a lap of honour by the players, the Hereford fans raced onto the pitch as the celebrations began in earnest.
