Battling Bury maintained their recent revival under new boss Alan Knill as they slowed Hereford United's promotion charge.
The Bulls could have done with a win to extend their recent run of three victories but were denied by a fine display by on-loan Bury keeper Darren Randolph.
The Charlton man pulled off a string of fine second-half saves to ensure that Hereford, who hold on to third place in the table, had to be content with a point.
A blustery wind and then a blizzard meant that the weather was more exciting during the first half than the play.
Such football as there was came from Hereford, but Bury marked tightly and quickly closed down the Bulls midfield and attack.Theo Robinson had Hereford's first chance after 10 minutes, racing on to a pass from Clint Easton and cracking a shot across goal and wide.
Easton curled a free-kick over from long range and Gary Hooper was foiled by some good defending after a neat exchange with Robinson.
The dangerous Bury attack was largely kept in check, although Andy Bishop did create a couple of openings.
The Shakers' prolific marksman failed to get much power behind his long-range effort and Wayne Brown saved easily.
But 12 minutes into the second period, Brown had to be at his best to defy Bishop, who powered in a header from an Elliott Bennett cross.Dean Beckwith completed the clearance and Hereford stormed downfield through Hooper who cut in and rifled a shot against the crossbar.
Randolph then did well to block Hooper's follow-up strike and went on to foil Robinson and Toumani Diagouraga with excellent stops, as Hereford pressed forward.
Bury almost pulled off a shock win, however, when Bishop's shot flashed wide deep into injury time.
