Hereford United bounced back from their 3-0 horror show against Morecambe with a hard-fought away win at struggling Macclesfield Town.
Teenage striker Theo Robinson confirmed his growing reputation as a quality goal poacher with a 57th minute volley through a pack of players to steal the three points.
It was Macclesfield's third defeat in succession and piled the pressure on under-fire manager Ian Brightwell, who needs a win sooner rather than later to save his job.
Macc dominated the game, carving a succession of chances in the first-half. In the 22nd minute Martin Gritton picked out Adam Murray whose ten-yard volley was palmed away by Wayne Brown.
Brown was then tested from long-range twice by Danny Thomas and again by Gritton as he made a string of good saves.
Macclesfield were desperately unlucky in the 34th minute when centre-back Sean Hessey powered a downward header through a crowd of players, only to see it cleared off the line by Ben Smith.
Macclesfield thought they had scored in the 44th minute when Francis Green picked out Gritton who stroked home from close range only to be flagged for offside as the ball hit the back of the net.
Gritton went close 20 seconds after the re-start, but headed a bouncing cross from Murray over the bar.
After the Bulls took the lead they were lucky to keep all their players on the pitch when Dean Beckwith crudely brought down Carl Regan inches outside the box, Terry Dunfield sliding the free-kick wide.
At the death Gritton had another chance to equalise but could only pick out keeper Brown from eight yards.
