James joins Pool party Hartlepool's teenage striker Luke James will return to the starting line-up for the home clash with Chesterfield. The 17-year-old has been struggling with a back injury in recent weeks and has started on the bench in the last two matches, but is set to form a two-man strikeforce alongside another teenager, Sunderland's Ryan Noble, due to injuries to other first-team forwards. Strikers James Brown (groin), James Poole (hamstring), Colin Larkin, Colin Nish (both knee) and Callum Hassan (hamstring) all remain sidelined. Midfielder Nolberto Solano has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to an unspecified illness. Pools, who have no other new injury or suspension problems, are comfortable in mid-table, 10 points above the relegation zone and 14 adrift of the play-offs. Craig Westcarr is a slight doubt for relegation-haunted Chesterfield. Westcarr failed to re-emerge for the second half against Wycombe on Monday after giving the Spireites a 1-0 half-time lead in a match they would eventually go on to win 4-0. Assistant boss Tommy Wright revealed that tight hamstrings were the problem, but it was "nothing too serious" and the forward only came off "as a precaution". At the core of the success against Wycombe was the central midfield duo of Franck Moussa and Mark Randall playing just in front of the fit-again Jimmy Juan and manager John Sheridan is likely to send his team out in the same formation at Victoria Park. Should Westcarr not make it, either Scott Boden or Nicky Ajose will come into the side. Midfielders Mark Allott and Danny Whitaker and defender Nathan Smith are also options for Sheridan but unnecessary changes are unlikely following Monday's performance. Chesterfield must win or they will be relegated. However, depending on results elsewhere, victory may not be enough to avoid an immediate return to npower League Two.
