Skipper back for Accies Hamilton welcome back skipper Alex Neil after suspension for the Scottish Communities League Cup second-round tie at home to First Division rivals Partick. Jordan Kirkpatrick is also in line for a starting role after a fine substitute appearance in Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Cowdenbeath. Defender Martin Canning remains out with an ankle knock with New Douglas Park boss Billy Reid looking for his young side to show a winning mentality. He said: "After not winning in the league for three games it is time for everyone to stand up and show we can win games of football. "This will be a tough tie but I am looking for an improvement from Saturday when we conceded a soft goal and never threatened which is a bad combination. Having the experience of Alex back will help our youngsters." Partick will be without midfield lynchpin Hugh Murray as the summer signing from St Mirren is serving a one-game ban. David Rowson and Mark McGuigan are also out with back injuries as the Jags look for win number seven of the season. Firhill boss Jackie McNamara said: "It would be great to keep our positive start going especially in a game that is quite massive for us. We had disappointments in cup ties last season and we want to put that right against Hamilton. "We have been strong defensively and we are also creating chances but we cannot just turn up and win. We need to go out and earn our place in the next round."
