Match Preview

Duo still missing for Gills Chris Whelpdale and Charlie Lee both remain sidelined for Gillingham's home clash against Swindon. Whelpdale has been struggling with an ankle injury of late while fellow midfielder Lee also missed last weekend's 3-0 defeat at Colchester due to a knee problem. However, the pair stand a chance of being fit for next Friday's trip to League One leaders Brentford. Loan signings Connor Smith and Jack Marriott are still waiting to make their full debuts and could well get the nod against the Robins as Gillingham aim to put further distance between themselves and the relegation zone. Swindon look set to involve Jay McEveley in their squad as they look for a rare away win. The 28-year-old former Blackburn man has made a swift recovery from a knee injury when it previously looked like he would spend another few weeks on the sidelines. Ryan Harley is another option for Mark Cooper, without an away win since November, after the playmaker returned to the matchday squad on Tuesday night after suffering from tonsillitis over the weekend. This match has come too soon for Troy Archibald-Henville, Tijane Reis and Alex Smith while striker Connor Waldon has left for a loan spell with Tamworth.
