Hess waits on Weston fitness
Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler is hoping to have Curtis Weston back in his injury-hit squad to face Lincoln.
Gills only have 17 fit players in their first-team squad and Hessenthaler reckons Weston could make a return from a thigh injury.
He told the club's official website: "I think Curtis Weston is the only player likely to return to contention for Saturday's game. He hasn't done a lot of training, though, so whether we would risk starting him, I don't know."
The game will come too soon for Cody McDonald (ankle), Barry Fuller (knee) and Mark McCammon (hamstring) but they have all been pencilled in to return against Morecambe next week. Jack Payne (dead leg) and Stanley Aborah (thigh) are also on the mend but are short of match fitness.
Hessenthaler also revealed Garry Richards and Simon King are closing in on a return but Danny Jackman is facing surgery on his knee problem.
He added: "Garry Richards is working nicely but still hasn't done any training with the first team. Simon King is gradually getting better but Danny Jackman has a problem with his knee that may need keyhole surgery."
Ben Hutchinson goes straight into the Lincoln squad.
Boss Chris Sutton hopes the on-loan Celtic youngster will add some venom to his misfiring strikeforce.
Sutton, whose side have scored just once in three matches this season, said: "Ben was somebody we looked at last season because we felt he was a player who would undoubtedly improve us. He`s here now and I`m delighted.
"He has looked very sharp in pre-season and I feel if we create chances for him, he will score. I feel he will really impress the supporters."
Sutton reported some unnamed players were unable to train at the start of the week after sustaining knocks during the home defeat to Torquay and that those concerned would be assessed ahead of the trip to Kent.
Hughton hits the winner
A Cian Hughton strike after nine minutes was enough to earn Lincoln their first points of the season with a 1-0 win against a below-par Gillingham side.
Winger Hughton - son of Newcastle boss Chris Hughton - expertly finished after Gills keeper Alan Julian could only block Albert Jarrett's shot from 10 yards
The goal did eventually spur the home side on although first-half chances were still rare. Danny Spiller chose to pass rather than shoot following a short corner routine on 38 minutes.
The second half started at an electric pace with Spiller and Adebayo Akinfenwa both testing Imps keeper Joe Anyon early on.
It was not all Gills chances, Delroy Facey should have done better on 58 minutes when he blasted the ball wildly over after Jarrett had put him clean through on goal.
A flying one-handed save from Anyon was all that prevented substitute Luke Rooney levelling the scores with a curling effort on 78 before Akinfenwa saw his effort come back off the post.
But Chris Sutton's men held on to lift themselves off the foot of the table and condemn Gillingham to their first defeat of the season.
