Kuffour blow for Gills
Gillingham`s Jo Kuffour is ineligible to face parent club Bristol Rovers, meaning a likely start for fellow loanee Frank Nouble in what is his final match before his stay comes to an end.
Kuffour is unable to feature under the terms of the agreement which took him from Rovers to Priestfield on a three-month loan in September.
That means Nouble is set to start in attack alongside Danny Kedwell and will hope to sign off with a memorable display before he returns to parent club West Ham.
Versatile midfielder-come-defender Charlie Lee is expected to be okay having been forced off with a dead leg just after the hour mark in last weekend`s goalless draw at Macclesfield.
Defender Simon King (knee) has resumed light training but the game may come too soon for his involvement, while long-term absentees Danny Spiller (ankle), Barry Fuller and Adam Birchall (both knee) remain on the sidelines but are all making good progress.
Striker Scott McGleish is a doubt for Bristol Rovers.
The former Leyton Orient and Northampton forward has been struggling for several weeks with an ankle injury, but is close to a return for the Pirates.
However, the weekend trip to Kent may come too soon for the veteran frontman.
Midfielder Ben Swallow is suspended for the visit to the Priestfield Stadium, as he serves the second game of a three-match ban incurred by his dismissal in the 6-1 FA Cup victory over AFC Totton earlier this month.
However, Swallow, along with Charlie Gough, has this week been told he is surplus to requirements at Rovers by manager Paul Buckle.
Experienced centre-back Adam Virgo has been ruled out for the season with knee ligament damage, while midfielder Wayne Brown (ankle) could also be unavailable for the rest of the term.
Gills give Rovers what four
Gillingham consolidated their top-seven place as a pair of Danny Kedwell penalties helped secure a 4-1 triumph which extended 10-man Bristol Rovers' miserable run of league results.
Gills took an early lead through Lewis Montrose before Kedwell scored his first from the spot deep in first-half injury time.
Rovers reduced the deficit via Mustapha Carayol but Danny Jackman's drive and Kedwell's second penalty put the result to bed against a Pirates side who saw substitute Cian Bolger sent off.
After Frank Nouble had gone close for the hosts, Jackman's fine left-wing cross was headed in by Montrose after eight minutes.
Joe Anyinsah, who had a penalty appeal of his own turned down, then felled Garry Richards in the area and Kedwell made no mistake from the spot.
The away side pulled a goal back after 51 minutes when Carayol danced his way into the Gills area to poke home but Jackman restored the home side`s two-goal cushion with a 20-yard drive.
And Gills put the result beyond doubt after 72 minutes when Bolger saw red for fouling Curtis Weston in the box, leaving Kedwell to thump home the resulting penalty.
