Gills pair back in contention Frank Nouble and Jo Kuffour come back into contention for Gillingham's home clash against Bradford. The on-loan strike pair have been denied permission to feature in the FA Cup by parent clubs West Ham and Bristol Rovers respectively and subsequently missed Tuesday's 3-2 first-round replay success over Bournemouth. That means Dennis Oli is likely to drop out of manager Andy Hessenthaler's XI having made his first start of the season in midweek. Midfielder Chris Whelpdale was forced off at half-time with a suspected chest infection and will be assessed. Danny Jackman is again likely to miss out with the hamstring complaint that forced him to miss the cup tie altogether, but fellow defender Matt Lawrence is set to come back into Hessenthaler's thoughts having been rested. Barry Fuller (knee), Danny Spiller (ankle) and Adam Birchall (knee) are all long-term absentees, while midfielder Luke Rooney is unlikely to be considered for selection again until his contract dispute is resolved one way or another. Bradford's on-loan defender Andrew Davies is expected to return to the side. Davies, signed on loan from Stoke in September, has completed a four-game ban, which followed hot on the heels of a three-game ban, but is likely to go straight back into the starting line-up. Manager Phil Parkinson could play the ex-Middlesbrough man alongside Luke Oliver in his accustomed central defensive role, or may be tempted to use him as a holding midfielder as the Bantams chase their first win in five league matches. Skipper Simon Ramsden, who recently returned from a long-term injury lay-off, missed last week's home defeat to Rotherham with a groin strain, but is also expected to return to contention. Parkinson faces a selection dilemma in midfield. Ricky Ravenhill, signed on loan last week from Notts County in time to make his debut against the Millers, is hoping to continue, but Ritchie Jones is pushing for a recall after recovering from a bruised toe. Defender Robbie Threlfall has suffered a setback in his recovery from a thigh strain and is expected to be sidelined for a further two or three weeks.
