Match Preview
Akinfenwa worry for Gills Gillingham have a doubt over Adebayo Akinfenwa ahead of the clash with in-form Accrington. Akinfenwa had to be replaced at half-time in the 2-2 draw with Southend in midweek due to illness and missed training on Thursday, but Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler is hopeful his striker will be fit for the visit of John Coleman's side. If Akinfenwa is ruled out, Dennis Oli could start. Hessenthaler also has doubts over striker Andy Barcham and defender Garry Richards, who sat out of training on Thursday to prevent further damage to their ankle injuries, midfielder Jack Payne picked up a knock late on at Roots Hall but should be passed fit. Defensive duo Josh Gowling and Tony Sinclair both returned to the Gills bench against the Shrimpers after returning to fitness and will be pushing for a starting place. Accrington manager John Coleman is sweating over the fitness of Charlie Barnett for the trip. Barnett missed the 3-0 win over Stockport in midweek with an ankle injury and faces a late fitness test to determine whether he will be available against the in-form Gills. If the midfielder fails to be passed fit, Sean McConville is likely to start. Stanley are still without full-back Leam Richardson, who has missed the last five games with a groin problem, while striker Rory Boulding is still unavailable as he sits out the final game of his three-match suspension. Defender Kevin Long returned to the Stanley squad against the Hatters following a hamstring injury and is pushing for a starting place as Accrington look to extend their unbeaten run to six games.

Match Report
Barcham buoys Gills Andy Barcham scored twice as Gillingham gave their League Two play-off hopes a timely boost with a 3-1 win at home to Accrington. The game began in explosive style with the Accrington defence misjudging Kevin Maher's third-minute through-ball allowing Barcham to coast in, round goalkeeper Alex Cisak and tap the ball in to the empty net. The visitors should have been level in the 10th minute but after Gills defender Matt Lawrence fouled Andrew Procter in the box, Terry Gornell fired his penalty against the post. However, they didn't have long to wait and levelled in the 14th minute as John Nutter failed to control Ian Craney's harmless long ball allowing Sean McConville to stroll in unmarked and beat Gills goalkeeper Alan Julian. Gillingham edged ahead in first-half stoppage time. Garry Richards' long ball was flicked on by Adebayo Akinfenwa and the impressive Barcham latched on to the loose ball before cleverly dinking the ball over the onrushing Cisak. The hosts controlled proceedings after the break and after Cody McDonald had somehow missed an open goal the striker sealed the win as he headed home from close range in the 55th minute after good work from Barcham and Nutter on the left.
