The ball falls kindly for Duff in the box but off-balance he can only turn the ball wide of the mark from eight yards. That was a half-chance to clinch the three points.

87mins

Damien Duff gets to the byline and fizzes the ball across the box with Dempsey arriving but the American cannot get his outstretched leg to the ball and the chance goes begging.

85mins

Hangeland is clearly suffering from a lack of fitness as he skews a clearance high into the air and brings more pressure onto his team. Fulham will be relieved as they clear the danger at the second time of asking.

Peter Crouch strikes a tremendous dipping volley from the edge of the box that looks destined for the bottom corner but Schwarzer makes a superb save and is up in time to block the follow up from Jenas.

There is so little in way of excitement in this game. Steve Bennett is featuring most in a scrappy game and again he blows for a foul as Crouch goes down under a challenge from Dempsey.

62mins

Damien Duff takes the ball down the left hand flank in trademark fashion and crosses for Zamora who takes the shot on instinctively but can only find Gomes.

60mins

I apologise for the lack of update, but there really has been very little to say. Bobby Zamora crosses from the right hand side but with the lead striker delivering the ball there was no-one in the middle for the cross to find.

55mins

The game is lacking a spark. Both sides are struggling to find time on the ball to put together a dangerous attack and at this time it is difficult to see a winner.

53mins

Hangeland misplaces a pass straight to Jenas who then finds Keane in a dangerous position but the Irishman is wasteful again in the final third and many of the travelling fans will be wanting to see Defoe some time soon.

Hello and welcome to Craven Cottage on a frosty Boxing Day afternoon. Fulham are in form and fresh off the back of a 3-0 win over the champions but Spurs have been playing well also and will be confident of getting a result today.

Match Preview

Roy Hodgson's Fulham should enjoy their Christmas dinner after disposing of champions Manchester United with some ease in a 3-0 victory last Saturday.

They face a Boxing Day London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at Craven Cottage in what should be an explosive affair.

Fulham cantered to their home success against the Red Devils thanks to goals from Danny Murphy, Bobby Zamora and Damien Duff and they now sit in ninth place in the Premier League table.

Murphy, alongside Clint Dempsey in advanced midfield roles, have been excelling for the Cottagers in recent times and they will want to put on another show this time out.

They now remain unbeaten in their last seven outings in all competition and they have secured their passage through to the knock-out stage of the Europa League, which has further excited the club's faithful.

Spurs themselves should be in confident mood after winning back-to-back games against Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers in emphatic fashion without conceding.

Harry Redknapp will be wanting to see his side consolidate their challenge for a top-four finish this term and, sitting just two points behind Aston Villa in fifth, another win on the road will aid their quest.

A midfield of Tom Huddlestone, Wilson Palacios, Aaron Lennon and the energetic Niko Kranjcar have been clicking into gear in recent times as they feed Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane up front.

Defensive duo Jonathan Woodgate and Ledley King remain sidelined for the visitors.

Luka Modric (ankle) is likely to miss out and out of favour David Bentley nurses a calf complaint.

Long-term injury victim Carlo Cudicini will be out for the season after sustaining serious injuries in a motorcycle accident.

Match Report

Heurelho Gomes has gone from villain to hero for Tottenham in the past year and the Brazilian goalkeeper was the man who did most to keep Fulham at bay and earn a point for Spurs.

Gomes reached his lowest point when Spurs lost 2-1 at Fulham last November, but he was in superb form at the Cottage this time, making four great saves to break Fulham hearts.

With Jerman Defoe controversially dropped by Harry Redknapp, Spurs were on the back foot for most of the game and needed Gomes at his best - which he was.

In the 12th minute, he tipped over a blistering volley from Danny Murphy, before Clint Dempsey's free-kick from 25 yards struck the top of his crossbar.

And in the second half, Gomes made two saves at full stretch to keep out headers from former Spurs striker Bobby Zamora, as well as keeping out a long-range shot from Dempsey.

By contrast, Spurs did not force Mark Schwarzer into a meaningful save until the 80th minute, when he dived full-length to keep out a 20-yard volley from Peter Crouch and then blocked the follow-up effort from Jermaine Jenas with his legs at close range.

A win for Spurs would have taken them into third place, but in the end they were happy with a draw. Robbie Keane was restored to the Tottenham attack alongside Peter, but the Irishman had another poor game, struggling to get into it.

Redknapp gave Tottenham's supporters what they wanted when he sent on Defoe for Keane with 20 minutes to go and the England striker soon went close with an overhead shot that flew over Schwarzer's bar.

And the Australian keeper was finally tested ten minutes from the end when he dived full-length to keep out a volley from Crouch, and then did just as well to block the follow-up effort from Jenas with his legs.

There were still chances in the final moments for Fulham to score, and when Zamora slipped the ball through to Duff, the Irishman crossed low to the far post, but Dempsey could not reach to slide the ball it into the net.
