Matt Taylor has the chance to whip the ball in from the right hand side from a free-kick. Taylor fires it in flat and low for Steinsson who gets his head to it but sends it just over the top to the relief of Schwarzer.

Nevland turns the ball into the path of Duff who races towards the Bolton box and squares for Dempsey to shoot but the American sends it well over the bar to the disappointment of the home faithful.

Simon Davies latches onto a misplaced pass from Samuel and looks to find Nevland with a cross from the right hand side but Jaaskelainen reads the danger and steps off his line to collect.

Fulham are pressing and win a corner through Dempsey. Duff will deliver from the right - Muamba rises at the near post to clear with a confident header. Poor from Duff.

A high ball is headed down to Damien Duff who has time and space to shoot from range and he hits a powerful, low shot towards the bottom corner but it skips off the surface and goes a fraction wide of the upright.

Andy O'Brien has been solid for Bolton today and again he steps in-front of Nevland to clear the danger as Simon Davies looked to slide the striker through.

This game is poised on a knife-edge now. After a dissappointing first-half Fulham have really come to life since the break but Bolton will want to convert a good performance into three points.

A quick counter attack from Fulham as Baird touches the ball to Simon Davies on the right. He moves the ball forward to Duff on the flank and he cuts back onto his left-foot and clips the ball towards the back post but Jaaskelainen gathers.

Damien Duff finds space on the right hand side and crosses for Nevland who hits a rasping shot towards the top corner but Jaaskelainen makes a fine save to turn it over the bar.

A nice move from the home side as they work the ball from left to right and Nevland slides it into the path of Duff coming in off the right touchline. Duff shoots first-time but Jaaskelainen makes a superb stop down to his left.

Fulham are dominating in the second half - Konchesky plays the ball into Gera and continues his run from left-back, Gera plays the return pass and Konchesky shoots from the channel but fires it just wide of the left hand post.

Duff delivers the corner from the right and whips it in to Hangeland who rises to meet it and heads for goal but Taylor is there to clear off the line. Fulham seem destined not to score!

Greening wins the ball from Cohen and it breaks for Duff who is brought down by Samuel and Fulham have a free-kick in another shooting position. Dempsey tries his luck from the right edge of the area but it is deflected onto the roof of the net.

Fulham have a free-kick on the edge of the Bolton box after Klasnic fouls Hangeland. This is a dangerous position and Fulham will look to take advantage - Duff whips it in low around the wall but it is blocked by the outstretched leg of Matt Taylor.

McCann has an opportunity to deliver a set-piece from the left and steers it towards Cahill at the back post, he rises well and heads it down towards Taylor but Duff makes a smart interception and clears the danger for Fulham.

The home side are keeping possession and seem content to dictate the play from deep with Hangeland seeing a lot of the ball.

How will Fulham respond to going behind? They have probably been the better side but find themselves trailing and Roy Hodgson will want to get his players in for half-time.

Baird wins the ball in midfield and Fulham look to get forward quickly. Greening picks it up and has support from Dempsey and Duff but chooses to shoot from the egde of the box but fires it over the bar. Greening lacked a little composure there.

McCann delivers the corner but it easily cleared but Bolton force another corner - The ball is delivered again by McCann and the whistle blows as Paintsil goes down under a challenge from Cohen. Free-kick Fulham.

Bolton have a free-kick just outside the Fulham area and Matthew Taylor will no doubt fancy this - Taylor strikes it low and the ball ricochets for Andy O'Brien who forces a corner.

Steinsson makes another fine challenge as he slides across the turf to take possession from Gera inside the box after a slick Fulham move across the midfield.

Duff delivers a corner from the left hand side towards Hangeland, he heads it down and the ball breaks kindly for Greening six yards out. Greening shoots instinctively but Steinsson makes a fine block on the line.

A match of very little goalmouth action as of yet. The defending has been solid by both pairs of centre-halves as they comfortably deal with the balls into the box.

Duff delivers a free-kick from the right hand side towards the back post but K. Davies heads the ball away, it's touched on again by Cohen but falls for Konchesky who strikes over the bar from the edge of the area.

Gera picks the ball up on the right hand side and slips a pass outside of him to the overlapping John Paintsil but his cross is easily dealt with at the front post by Gary Cahill.

The opening exchanges is much like the light sparring at the beginning of a boxing match. The two sides are trying to feel eachother out and neither are showing too much forward ambition.
