Brechin missing three Brechin will again be without injured trio David McClune, Gerry McLauchlan and Derek Carcary when they head to Forfar looking for their first win in five games. Manager Jim Weir admits his side need a win to ensure they are fighting to be involved in a play-off as opposed to battling relegation. He said: "We have to win to increase our chances of getting involved in the promotion scrap but we also need to ensure we do not get sucked into things at the bottom. "A win would give us a bit of breathing space and I saw signs in our game at East Fife in midweek that we are almost back to our best after a bad run of injuries." Relegation-threatened Forfar are without midfielder Chris Hegarty through suspension after he was sent off during Tuesday night's 2-2 draw with Stirling Albion. Michael Bolochoweckyj is also susppended and manager Dick Campbell will also be missing Jamie Bishop, Joe Shaughnessy, Iain Campbell, Ross Campbell and Chris Templeman through injury. Members of the Station Park youth side will be in the squad as cover. Campbell said: "The players that are coming in, whether they are youths or guys that have not played much recently, have the chance to make a starting jersey theirs. "It is a real opportunity for boys to do well in a derby atmosphere and be part of helping us to climb the table throughout the rest of the season."

Four-star Forfar hammer Brechin Forfar pulled away from the bottom of the Scottish Second Division with a resounding 4-1 win over Brechin. The first real opening led to a goal in the 20th minute, Forfar's Martyn Fotheringham running to the near post to cleverly flick Nicky Low's cross past Craig Nelson. Low then scored himself, firing in his sixth of the season with a left-footed drive to double Forfar's lead. Kevin Byers completed a perfect first half for the hosts, slotting Fotheringham's pass into the bottom corner just before the break. Bryan Hodge's deep cross was headed home by Scott Buist in the first minute of the second half as Brechin threatened a revival. But the game was put to bed when Gary Fusco fouled Low in the box and Fotheringham dispatched the penalty for his second goal.
