Match Preview
No Wright for FC United FC United manager Karl Marginson will be without suspended duo Scott McManus and Jerome Wright for the visit of Brighton in their FA Cup second round replay. McManus was dismissed for violent conduct in the original tie, which ended 1-1, after apparently elbowing Brighton substitute Gary Hart in an off-the-ball incident while Wright also misses out after collecting five bookings for the season. Ludovic Quistin is in line for a return to the matchday squad after missing a large chunk of the season through injury, and Lee Neville is also in contention for return after his recent injury woes. However, one player who will be missing for Marginson's men is ex-Port Vale and England schoolboy striker Steve Torpey. The experienced front man remains on the treatment table with a long-term injury. Adam El-Abd and Jamie Smith are pushing to return to the Brighton squad. Centre-half El-Abd has been sidelined since he suffered a nasty gash to his thigh against Southampton a fortnight ago and midfielder Smith sprained his ankle in training last week. But both players have resumed training and could travel to Gigg Lane as the Seagulls attempt to book a south-coast derby clash with Portsmouth in round three. West Brom loanee Chris Wood is ineligible so Glenn Murray is likely to start alongside Ashley Barnes is attack again. Goalkeeper Casper Ankergren is expected to be rested once more with Peter Brezovan having played in all Brighton's cup matches so far. Fringe players Lewis Dunk, Gary Hart, Cristian Baz and assistant boss Mauricio Taricco are all in line for run-outs.

Match Report
Seagulls soar into third round Late goals from Elliott Bennett and Matthew Sparrow sealed Brighton's passage into the third round of the FA Cup as they finally saw off FC United of Manchester 4-0 to book a south-coast clash with Portsmouth. The Seagulls were in cruise control at the break thanks to Fran Sandaza's tap-in and Inigo Calderon's header, with Bennett and Sparrow wrapping things up in the final four minutes. The Red Rebels, who knocked out Rochdale in the first round and earned a superb draw at the Withdean Stadium, did have their chances with Jake Cotterill missing a second-half penalty, but Gus Poyet's side were worthy winners. Albion were rewarded for a bright start in the 25th minute when Sandaza converted his second goal of the season from close range after good work from Bennett. Brighton then struck a crucial second blow on the stroke of half-time when Sandaza crossed for Calderon to head home from two yards. Carlos Roca went close for the home side after the break before Cotterill blew their golden chance to get back in the game when his 68th minute spot-kick flew wide following Calderon's foul on Ben Deegan. Bennett showed Cotterill how to do it with four minutes left when he fired home from 10 yards, and Sparrow had the last word in injury-time, heading home Gary Hart's cross.
