Krysiak back for Grecians Artur Krysiak has recovered from a hamstring injury and is in contention to continue in goal for Exeter against Rochdale. Krysiak sustained the problem in the 4-0 loss to Huddersfield and was taken off at half-time. Should manager Paul Tisdale refuse to take any chances, Lenny Pidgeley will replace the Pole. Defender Richard Duffy is still a major doubt with an ankle complaint, but there are no other injury problems for the Grecians. Exeter are rooted to the bottom of the League One table and have only won once in nine matches. Rochdale could hand a debut to new loan signing Nathan Eccleston. The 20-year-old Liverpool striker arrived at Spotland on Thursday and is expected to be included in Steve Eyre's squad. Eyre has no new injury or suspension worries and could be boosted by the return to contention of summer signing Simon Hackney, who has yet to feature for Dale. Hackney returned to training last week following a long-term abdominal injury, but was not ready to face his former club Colchester in last weekend's 2-2 draw. Midfield trio Jason Kennedy, Marc Twaddle and Brian Barry-Murphy are all pushing for recalls to the starting line-up. Striker Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro and on-loan pair Ahmed Benali (Manchester City) and Matthew Barnes-Homer (Luton) are all vying with Eccleston for two starting places up front.

Grecians ride their luck Daniel Nardiello celebrated his 29th birthday with a brace as Exeter moved off the bottom of the table with a 3-1 victory against Rochdale. Rochdale really should have had the points wrapped up by half-time such was their early dominance. Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro, Marcus Holness, Neil Trotman and Nathan Ecclestone all had good chances, before the latter broke the deadlock. Ashley Grimes latched on to Steve Tully's dreadful back pass and crossed for the on-loan Liverpool man to score from close range. Despite being a distant second best, Exeter incredibly went in at the break on level terms. David Noble's long-range shot hit a defender and Nardiello reacted quickest to poke the ball into the bottom corner. Nardiello put Exeter in front when Jake Taylor was pulled back inside the box early in the second half and the striker converted the subsequent penalty. Taylor wrapped up the points for Exeter with a drilled shot from a narrow angle with 10 minutes to go after good work by Liam Sercombe.
