Match Preview
Nardiello hope for Grecians Exeter striker Daniel Nardiello could come back into contention for the home game against Rochdale. Injury-prone Nardiello has missed the last two games with a hamstring problem as City have sought to give the forward the maximum amount of time to recover, but he could return to the bench against Dale. Fellow forward John O'Flynn has been sidelined for the past three matches with a leg injury and could also make his comeback. Exeter boss Paul Tisdale will be hoping either O'Flynn or Nardiello make it as Marcus Stewart was his only recognised forward on the substitutes' bench for Tuesday's 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth. The Grecians six-game unbeaten run came to an end with the loss to the Cherries but they are unbeaten so far in the league at St James Park so will be confident of bouncing back with a victory. Rochdale boss Keith Hill is likely to be without Scott Wiseman for the fourth successive game but Joe Widdowson could return to the squad. Defender Wiseman picked up a stomach muscle injury at the start of September in the win against Southampton and has not played since. Fellow defender Widdowson missed out on the midweek win over Huddersfield, suffering with a knock, but has returned to training and is likely to return to the squad, although he may have to be content with a place on the bench due to Alan Goodall's recent run of form. Deane Smalley is pushing for a start following two substitute appearances on loan from Oldham but may have to settle for the bench again.

Match Report
Cureton wins it for Grecians Jamie Cureton's second-half goal earned Exeter three well deserved points against high-flying Rochdale at St James' Park. The first half was dominated by the home side, who enjoyed the lion's share of possession, but they could not get the goal their play deserved. Ryan Harley twice went close with shots from distance, but the closest they came to scoring was when Jamie Cureton's shot was stopped on the line by Craig Dawson. The Grecians got the goal they deserved four minutes after the break when Troy Archibald-Henville crossed from the right and Cureton glanced a header home from eight yards. Rochdale responded with a good run from Joe Thompson, but his shot was well saved by Paul Jones. The goal kicked Dale into life and they were enjoying their best spell of the game, but they could not breach an Exeter defence that were on top form in keeping only their second clean sheet of the campaign. Exeter could have added to their score late on, but James Dunne's blockbuster rattled the crossbar from 25 yards.
