Taylor in line for Grecians recall Exeter manager Paul Tisdale could recall Matt Taylor to his squad to face Notts County. Club captain Taylor has made a return to training after recovering from a back injury which has seen him sidelined since the first week of the season and is in contention to face Paul Ince's men. David Noble failed a fitness test before the 2-1 win over Plymouth in midweek and is a doubt, while striker John O'Flynn missed out with a torn thigh muscle. Daniel Nardiello has now fully recovered from a back injury despite having four injections last week to ease the pain and staked his claim for a return to the starting line-up with a last-minute winner over Devon rivals Plymouth. Captain John Thompson comes back into the reckoning for Notts County. The defender served a one-match suspension as Paul Ince recorded his first win as Magpies manager against Gateshead in the FA Cup first round. Neal Bishop has trained all week after a knee problem meant the midfielder was only fit enough for a place on the bench in the cup. He also played and scored in a reserve-team outing this week and there is a strong possibility he could return to the starting line-up. Craig Westcarr continues to nurse a hamstring injury and remains a doubt, while fellow forward Ben Burgess is still sidelined by a calf complaint.

Match Report

Grecians back to winning ways Exeter ended a run of three straight league defeats with a 3-1 victory over Notts County at St James Park. The Grecians went two goals in front through their potent strike pairing of Jamie Cureton and Richard Logan. Cureton got the first when he turned in a Steve Tully cross from close range and Logan doubled Exeter's lead when he skilfully flicked the ball in at the near post from Scott Golbourne's centre. County pulled themselves back into the contest with a goal on the stroke of half-time. Ben Davies' free-kick was met by Lee Hughes who powered a header past Artur Krysiak in the Exeter goal. But it was Ryan Harley who got the third goal for Exeter in the 66th minute when he raced from halfway and took his time before planting a fine low shot across goal and in off the far post.
