Match Preview

Double delight for Grecians Exeter will be boosted by the return of two players from suspension for the home match against relegation-threatened Dagenham. Defenders Steve Tully and Scott Golbourne both saw red in the 5-1 defeat at Colchester and subsequently missed the 1-0 win over Swindon in midweek. The Grecians appealed both decisions but the one-match bans stood. However, they are now back in contention to claim starting places in Paul Tisdale's team. Billy Jones could be one of the players who makes way, but Tisdale may stick with the side that kept a clean sheet against the Robins. That win practically assured the Devon club of another season in npower League One, lifting them to 12th place with 52 points. Tisdale's men earned a 1-1 draw at Dagenham in September. Dagenham & Redbridge boss John Still will have Oluwafemi Ilesanmi back for the match. The left-back has sat out the last two matches through suspension after he was sent-off in the recent draw at Leyton Orient but returns to tackle the Grecians. However, fellow full-back Damien McCrory has deputised impressively after returning from a twisted ankle and will start again. Striker John Akinde (groin) played a behind-closed-doors game on Tuesday and is a week away from making his long-awaited debut after signing on a season-long loan in January from Bristol City. Midfielder Solomon Taiwo is out with an ankle injury so veteran Peter Gain will keep his place as the Daggers look to continue the fine recent form which has seen them move out of the drop zone.

Match Report

Logan downs Daggers Richard Logan climbed off the bench to grab a late winner as Exeter came from a goal down to see off Dagenham 2-1 at St James Park. City had the better of the first half with Ryan Harley heading a great chance over the bar for the home side, although Billy Jones was forced to clear off the goalline from Danny Green's in-swinging corner. After the break Jon Nurse should have put Dagenham in front but his header was saved by Ben Hamer, while Bas Savage failed to convert from close range after Hamer had spilled a shot. Substitute John Akinde then broke through the Exeter defence but chipped wastefully wide with only Hamer to beat. The deadlock was finally broken 14 minutes from time when Green's corner was headed on and Romain Vincelot scored from close range. However, the lead lasted just five minutes before Matt Taylor nodded in David Noble's free-kick, and with three minutes remaining Logan headed in at the far post from Daniel Nardiello's cross.
