Fit-again Bauza to bide time
Striker Guillem Bauza is back in training but will not feature in Exeter's squad against Bournemouth.
Bauza has been struggling with a hamstring injury but could return to consideration for the match against Sheffield Wednesday next week.
Fellow forward John O'Flynn (knee) remains sidelined, however, along with midfielder Liam Sercombe (foot), who is some considerable way from a return to full fitness.
Front man Daniel Nardiello will serve the second of his two-match ban, picked up for his dismissal at Charlton last weekend.
Those losses have been offset, though, by the capture of Matthew Whichelow on a month`s loan from Watford.
The forward boasts considerable pedigree, having featured for the Hornets 19 times last season, and may well start against the Cherries.
Shaun McDonald will miss out for Bournemouth after being ruled out of action for four weeks.
The defender suffered a hairline fracture to a toe during the 3-0 home defeat to Chesterfield last week and will not be available to boss Lee Bradbury for a month.
Meanwhile, Mark Molesley has suffered a suspected slight hamstring tear and will not be involved this weekend. The club are waiting on the results of a scan to confirm the diagnosis.
Shaun Cooper, who did not start a league match for the first time this season in midweek, is expected to be recalled.
Michael Symes (groin) and Joe Partington (hip) are still sidelined, but Darryl Flahavan is expected to keep his place in goal ahead of Shwan Jalal.
Cherries continue Grecians woe
Wes Thomas scored his second goal in three games to send Bournemouth on their way to a 2-0 win and heap more misery on troubled Exeter.
The striker grabbed the opener seven minutes before the interval when he curled an exquisite effort into the top corner.
Bournemouth rubbed salt into City's wounds in the 90th minute when Steve Tully cleared Scott Malone's shot off the line, only for the ball to rebound off Richard Duffy and into the back of the net.
It was a deserved victory for the visitors who created the better chances during a scrappy contest.
The Cherries squandered two glorious opportunities to take the lead in the space of 30 first-half seconds.
Thomas poked wide of a gaping goal following some nifty footwork from Arter.
Moments later Malone jinked his way into the City box and squared for Marc Pugh, who sliced the ball wide when he looked destined to score.
But Thomas atoned for his teammates' profligacy in superb fashion.
Exeter came close to salvaging an equaliser six minutes from time when substitute Richard Logan hit the post with a close-range effort before Duffy's own goal settled the contest.
"Will David Moyes be able to turn it around at Ma..."
