Match Preview
Dilemma for Moyes Manager David Moyes has virtually a fully-fit squad for their visit of Tottenham in the Barclays Premier League - but a number of players are lacking match sharpness. Defender Phil Jagielka, forward Victor Anichebe and midfielder Leon Osman all played for the reserves in midweek but are among those in need of pitch time. Midfielder Darron Gibson (knee) is a few weeks from fitness while on-loan Steven Pienaar is ineligible against his parent club. Tottenham's success in forcing their way into the top four ultimately makes Everton's fight for European competition more difficult as it means two of the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool will not qualify for the Champions League. But Moyes said that was just something else they had to deal with. "Tottenham and Everton were trying to compete and up to a year or so ago we were the only team who had managed to break into the top four and got into the Champions League," he said. "Tottenham did it two years ago and look like they are going to do it again. "They have spent very well - and quite a lot of times - to get that success. "It makes competition for the other European places more difficult. It used to be there was a top four but now there might be a top-six in some cases now. "It is difficult for us but it is difficult for those other teams to get into the top four, it makes the competition tougher. "I do think there are a lot of other teams getting much closer to that; we've been there over the years and been very close and not quite managed it." Winger Aaron Lennon is unavailable for Tottenham after suffering a hamstring injury against Stevenage on Wednesday. Louis Saha has recovered from a knee injury and is fit to face his former club, but Michael Dawson is out for the rest of the season after rupturing ankle ligaments in midweek. William Gallas has fully recovered from a calf injury and is available but Ledley King (knee) will have a late test and Tom Huddlestone (ankle) is out. Redknapp has a huge dilemma about who to play up front. Former Evertonian Saha is in good form and has struck up a sound partnership with Emmanuel Adebayor, but Rafael van der Vaart is fit again and Jermain Defoe scored twice against Stevenage in midweek to take his tally to three in two games. "Jermain was outstanding on Wednesday," Redknapp said. "He has been unlucky but Louis has come in and got three goals and Adebayor came on the other night and changed the game. Rafa is back. It's a nice problem to have." Redknapp insists Saha can play despite Everton claiming a gentleman's agreement is in place that prevents the Frenchman lining up against the club he left in January. "He is available. He is looking forward to going back there. He certainly wants to play."
