It looks like the answer appears to be 'no'. Everton have a last real chance to sling it into the box but Yakubu's cross is far too long for Vaughan.
Can someone find a winner in the three minutes of added on time?
Everton are back in the driving seat as we enter the very closing stages and they almost snatch it! Yakubu rises to meet Arteta's free-kick and Given denies him with his fingertips before dropping on the loose ball.

The home side have upped the tempo in the last few minutes and Newcastle are having to work hard to contain them.
Almost for Everton! Mikel Arteta clips a clever reverse ball into Osman who unleashes a rasping snap shot that Given does superbly to turn wide.
The levels of frustration around the stands at Goodison is increasing quite rapidly with every misplaced pass or missed tackle.
In the first half it was Everton that were pressing the man in possession but in the second period it is Newcastle giving the hosts no time to pick a pass as they are very quick into the tackle.
This game has opened up spectacularly and right now it is impossible to either pick a winner or imagine that there is not another goal or two in it.
Almost 3-2 to Newcastle! Duff whips a corner into the near post and Saha slices it into the side of his own net and he is much relieved to see the ball not actually nestling in the net.
Suddenly the roles have been reversed and Newcastle now look the most likely to score as Butt finds Duff again but this time Lescott is in the way.
Joe Kinnear has not seen either of Newcastle's goals due to the restrictions of his touchline ban he was in the dressing room for each strike - not that he cares too much about that now.
EVERTON 2-2 NEWCASTLE. Unbelievable stuff! Newcastle were down and out but now they are level within the first minute of the second period as Taylor picks out DUFF in the box and he slots the visitors level.

There will be two minutes of added time at the end of the half.
Nicky Butt picks up a yellow card for a cynical trip on Saha as he loses a sprinting mis-match by some distance.
A brief stoppage in the play as Nicky Butt is down receiving treatment after taking a blow to his lower back.
Jose Enrique was rumoured to be only capable of playing 45 minutes today and he has not managed that as Sebastien Bassong replaces him at left-back. Why was he starting?
Everton think Newcastle are here for the taking by the looks of things and they seem to be heading all out to clinch victory before the break as the hosts apply non-stop pressure.
EVERTON 2-0 NEWCASTLE. Everton double their advantage and Leighton Baines is the creator as his cross from the byline is poked home by the long legs of record signing Marouane FELLAINI from two yards out.
The game has drifted into a bit of a lull in the last few minutes with Everton happy to sit on the lead for now and look to attack when they see a real chance to exploit gaps, while Newcastle can't provide the right service for Owen.
Nearly an own goal to sum up life at Newcastle! Saha fails to control the ball properly in the box then, under no pressure, Coloccini smashes the ball at Steven Taylor and it flashes just inches wide.
Since going in front Everton have rather taken their foot off the gas and are allowing Newcastle to take a foothold in a game they really have not looked like dominating until now.
Charles N'Zogbia picks himself up a caution after a late standing tackle from behind on Leon Osman.
Last-ditch from the Toffees! Somehow Newcastle fail to score as Duff, Owen, Guthrie and then Taylor all have shots saved by Howard or blocked on the line by blue shirts in an almight penalty box scramble.
Newcastle made no real complaint over the penalty decision, although replays suggest Baines may have strayed offside in the build-up.

Penalty to Everton! Leighton Baines nips into the box and Nicky Butt, already committed to the challenge, brings him down and its a stonewall penalty.
Steven Pienaar is showing why Everton have missed him so much so far this season with his tricky running and neat passing skills troubling Steven Taylor constantly.
How quickly things can turn. Geremi hits a speculative ball into the box that Jagielka swings and misses at and N'Zogbia hits first time just wide of the far post.
In complete contrast to the Merseyside derby last week Everton are lively, bright and pressuring the player in possession - Newcastle can't get a proper move going.
Everton mean business! Fellaini uses his height to flick the ball away from Coloccini and into the path of Yakubu but the Nigerian can't bring it under his spell and his shot on the stretch dribbles wide.

Everton are captained this afternoon by Mikel Arteta as Phil Neville is ruled out and he will be looking to supply the strike duo of Yakubu and summer signing Louis Saha,
Welcome to Goodison Park where two clubs who are in the midst of takeover talk and runs of poor form meet as Everton entertain Newcastle.
Honours were even at Goodison Park after Newcastle United battled from two goals behind to walk away with a point for new boss Joe Kinnear. A penalty from Mikel Arteta broke the deadlock before Marouane Fellaini hit the second to double a deserved and comfortable lead, but a goal from Steven Taylor just before the break threw the Magpies a lifeline. A second-half finish by winger Damien Duff brought the scores level in a game of two clear halves. Desperate to win their first home game of the season Everton looked to have found the battling qualities of last seasons fifth-placed finish as David Moyes' side flew from the kick off. Efforts from Steven Pienaar, Arteta and Yakubu had the visitors pinned on the back foot and a goal looked almost a certainty. The breakthrough came on 16 minutes when Leon Osman played through a ball to on-rushing Leighton Baines inside the box. The wing-back raced to the by-line before being hacked down by a late Nicky Butt sliding tackle and referee Howard Webb had no hesitation in pointing to the spot. Despite offside protests for the Osman pass the decision stood and Everton captain Arteta calmly stepped up and sent Newcastle keeper Shay Given the wrong way. The visitors felt they should have equalised moments later when a long-range effort from Danny Guthrie pinballed around inside the box and fell at the feet of Taylor who unleashed from ten yards, but a well-placed Baines on the goal-line took the full force of the ball on his chest. Wave after wave of Everton attack tested the shaky looking Newcastle backline and the lead could have been doubled just after the half-hour mark when Pienaar whipped in a cross to the near post, but a lunging Yakubu couldn't wrap his foot around his volley to steer it goalbound. The lead was deservedly doubled a minute later after a clever backheel from Pienaar found Baines on the touchline, who quickly curled in a cross to the front post where an on-rushing Fellaini got in front of his man to volley his first goal for Everton. Against the run of play and deep into added time the Everton lead was cut in half after Geremi was given time to flight in a high cross to the back post, where Taylor had ghosted in to head the ball against the bar and over the line taking his side in at 2-1 down. The half-time team-talk from Magpies boss Kinnear must have still been ringing in the ears of his players as the black and whites equalised within a minute of the restart. A baffled Everton backline stood with arms in the air for offside as Taylor chased down a through ball, but he carried on to pick out an unmarked Duff inside the box, who sidefooted past a stranded Tim Howard to level the scores. Newcastle keeper Given pulled off the save of the game on 65 minutes after a battling Osman won the ball deep in the visitors half and after a one-two with Arteta, the ball fell kindly to Osman in the box and his snap shot was heading for the top corner before the keeper acrobatically tipped it over the bar. A tactical change from the Newcastle bench saw Shola Ameobi replace Geremi and the change nearly paid immediate dividends as the striker found himself one on one with Howard. The keeper could only parry the ball to the feet of Charles N'Zogbia who looked certain to score, but Everton once again had Baines to thank for a goal-line block to keep the scores level. Efforts from Ameobi and two late strikes from Blues substitute Victor Anichebe could not find the net and the home side left the field disappointed at having squandered a two-goal lead.
