Match Report

Everton will hope to get their bid to finish fourth in the Premier League back on track when they face already relegated Derby County at Goodison Park.

The Toffees' hopes took a major blow last weekend as they lost the Merseyside derby 1-0 to Liverpool at Anfield, leaving them five points adrift of their city rivals.

However, boss David Moyes has refused to give up the chase of the Reds, saying: "Any team with a five-point advantage like Liverpool have now would feel confident.

"But I have to believe we can still catch them. From our point of view, the fight goes on.

"There are teams below us who believe they can catch us and we feel the same about teams ahead of us, we can still catch Liverpool."

However, Everton's cause has not been helped by an injury list which is growing at just the wrong time of the season.

Midfielder Tim Cahill has been ruled out until next season due to a foot injury, while Andrew Johnson is sidelined by a groin problem and fellow strikers Victor Anichebe and James Vaughan are also absent.

The Rams travel to Merseyside having already been relegated back to the Championship due to their 2-2 draw at home to Fulham last weekend.

Boss Paul Jewell has failed to record a win in 21 games in charge of Derby, but he is still looking for some solid displays in the next few weeks.

An immediate target is Sunderland's record low points total of 15, with Derby having only gained 11 to date this term.

Jewell commented: "Everything is towards next season now. It would be nice to get past 15 points, but if we had the option of sticking on 11 points but coming back up next season, I would take it."

Veteran defender Alan Stubbs is unlikely to face his former club due to a calf injury, while Giles Barnes, Claude Davis and Danny Mills remain sidelined.

Earlier this season, Everton won 2-0 at Pride Park thanks to goals from Mikel Arteta and Yakubu.
