Final whistle goes at Goodison Park and Everton get the result they want taking all three points but it was far from comfortable for them, Derby having chances of their own in an uninspiring contest.

Savage takes the second corner but its Carroll who fouls an Everton defender and that could be the last chance for Derby.

Lewis with yet another corner for Derby which Carroll comes up for but Moore can't direct his header but Derby do force another corner.

Carsley sends in a great low cross for Osman to attack but Carroll does well to grab the bal before it can reach Osman.

The fourth official indicates there will be a minimum of three minutes of added on time.

Jorge Nuno Valente comes on to replace Mikel Arteta.

Arteta gets a cross into the box but it's a poor cross from a good position as it drifts over the waiting Anichebe and Johnson.

Savage gets himself a booking after a late tackle on Arteta.

Lewis with another corner for Derby but again it's dealt with by Howard who punches it away but is then ajudged to have been fouled and gets a freekick anyway.

Savage floats in a freekick which Howard comes for early and makes it with a good catch.

Good spell for Derby but they just can't find that final pass through the Everton defence who are holding out a bit.

Lewis takes another corner for Derby which falls to Ghaly on the edge of the area but his shot is blocked but the ball comes back to him, again though his chipped through ball is dealt with by Yobo who clears.

Everton make another change with Phil Jagielka coming on and Manuel Fernandes being brought off.

Ghaly does brilliantly to turn Carsley inside out with some great skills but the shot isn't so good with a shot that is always rising up and over.

Everton make their change of the half with Ayegbeni Yakubu coming off and Victor Anichebe replacing him.

Ghaly gets himself a booking after dragging down Johnson who would have been away if he hadn't commited the foul.

Lewis' corner isn't a great one and Carsley half clears the corner before Fernandes completes the job.

Lewis has another chance to swing one in for Derby from a freekick and this time forces a corner after Osman headed it behind.

Lewis swings in a cross from the right looking for a white shirt but Miller doesn't time his jump right and Yobo is able to nod it away.

Everton take the corner short and Derby have taken their eye off the ball as Arteta slips in a low cross to Lescott at the near post but his finish isn't great, shinning it wide.

Neville gets a low ball into the box and picks out Osman who shots first time but Carroll does well to turn it behind.

Great chance for Derby after Miller did well to dummy Todd's through ball allowing Villa to sprint away towards goal but he can't beat Howard who does well to save but Villa should have scored.

Arteta with the corner for Everton, this one though is headed away by Moore who towers above everyone to nod it up field.

Derby are cut open again with Osman having the opportunity again, this time Carroll does well to parry the shot away before Todd is forced to put the ball behind for a corner.

Everton take the lead after a flash of brilliance from Fernandes, spilting the Derby defence down the middle after spoting Osman's run, the winger running on and firing it past Carroll.

Another penalty appeal from the Everton faithful as Johnson goes down under the challenge of Moore but not given by Andre Marriner.

Fernandes has a decent strike which Carroll sees late and can only parry it into the path of Yakubu but he can only blaze it out for a throw-in from a tight angle.

Arteta puts an inswinging corner into the penalty area and Johnson dives to reach the ball but can't quiet make it.

Mears gets forward for Derby and tries to float in a cross but it's straight down Howard's throat.

Derby make a change with Tyrone Mears coming on to replace Mile Sterjovski.

Jones has the first shot of the second half, cutting in well from the left before blasting it towards goal but it's easily saved by Howard at his near post.

The second half gets underway here at Goodison where everyon is hoping for goals.

All square at the break after a poor first half, especially from Everton with most of the players looking as though they are still on a beach after returning from their midweek break to Spain this week. Derby aren't playing to badly though.

Arteta takes another corner for Everton, this time finding someone in a blue shirt, Carsley getting underneath the ball and heading it up and over.

Ghlay slides in a nice looking ball for Savage who gets in on goal but a timely intervention from Yobo, just as Savage was going to pull the trigger, blocks the goal bound effort.

Arteta tries to strike a freekick in from around 20 yards, but it's a dreadful effort, blazing it high and wide of the target, not great stuff from Everton so far.

Arteta takes a good looking corner which drifts across Derby's six yard box but nobody challenges for it and Leacock can head it away.

Very little happening at Goodison Park, both teams failing to create anything. Miller swinging in a cross which is far too deep for Villa and it drifts out for a goal kick.

Lewis takes the second corner, whipping it into the six yard box but again its headed away, this time by Lescott.

Lewis takes a corner for Derby, swinging it into the box and forcing Carsley to head it behind for another corner.

Phil Neville is the next man to get a booking after blocking off Savage who had just poked the ball past him.

Arteta swings in the freekick from the left which Carroll does well to come off his line and takes the ball comfortable.

Andy Todd clatters into Osman and gets himself a booking for it.

Yakubu goes down very easily inside the box under the challenge of Leacock and looks at Andre Marriner more in hope than expectation as the referee tells him to get on his feet.

Miller drills in a shot from long range but it's straight at Lescott who blocks it well before Everton clear it away, the home side not having it all their own way.

Baines gets in another wicked cross which misses Arteta and then falls to Yakubu who misses a sitter from four yards, blazing it high and wide.

Baines gets forward from his left-back position and floats in a nice looking cross for Yakubu to attack but Moore is their to head it away.

Good play from Derby again, Miller finding himself in a wide position and cliping it into the box but it's too close to Howard who plucks it out of the air.

Lewis swings in the resulting corner which Baines heads away at the near post as Everton clear the danger.

Savage bend in a freekick from the left which is headed away but only as far as Villa who lays it off for Jones inside the box, his left-footed effort is deflected behind for a corner.

Miller does well for Derby, laying the ball of for Sterjovski who drives it in low forcing Howard into his first save, spilling the ball and then gathering it at the second atempt.

Ghlay does well to step past Yobo before getting his shot away from the edge of the area but it's always rising and ends up in the crowd behind the goal.

Everton win a freekick which Arteta takes quickly, setting Neville off down the left before he slides a great ball across the face of goal for Osman who bundles the ball in but is pulled up before he can celebrate after fouling Lewis in the build-up.

Same again for Arteta, his attempt from the corner comes back to him and then gets in a decent second cross which Villa gets away.

Eveton win the first corner of the game which Arteta swings in towars the near post, his first attempt comes straight back to him but Arteta's second cross is much better and Leacock has to put it behind for another corner.

Referee Andre Marriner gets this game underway here at Goodison Park with one team still having something to play for and the other just playing for a bit of pride now.

Everton finds themselves six points behind Liverpool with only six games left as they face Derby. The Toffees welcome back Andrew Johnson from a hip injury but are still without Tony Hibbert and Steven Pienaar.
