Match Report

Head coach Steve McClaren was pleased with the effort and commitment on display as England produced an improved performance.

He said: "In the first 20 minutes we won challenges and competed and eventually we knew they would tire.

"We needed the first goal and it came, then the rewards flowed in the second half when we scored two more.

"We've now got five games left - four of which are at Wembley - and we've shown we've got confidence there (after last week's 1-1 draw with Brazil).

"We've looked like a team over the last two games which is pleasing so (qualification) it's in our hands.

"If we win our games we'll qualify and that's all we can ask for."
