Match Preview
Fitness worries for Elgin Paul Kaczan and Jake Inglis have been ruled out of Elgin's clash with Queen's Park. Meanwhile, City also have major doubts over defender Jamie Duff, who has a knee injury, and player/assistant boss Barry Wilson who has a groin complaint. City boss Ross Jack believes the supporters could be in for a treat at Borough Briggs if both sides show the attacking form. Jack said: "If we play like we did in the first half against East Stirling and Queen's Park attack us in the manner they did Arbroath then this should be a wonderful open game of football. "They are both big players and will be given as long as possible to prove their fitness." Queen's Park's 19-year-old goalkeeper Gordon McPherson is in line to start his first senior game as regular number-one Adam Strain has been ruled out through a knee injury. Defender Paul McGinn, midfielder Paul Harkins and striker David Murray are injured, while utility man Jack Henry is unavailable due to work commitments. Hampden head coach Gardner Speirs said: "Gordon did well when he came on a substitute against Arbroath so I have no qualms about starting him at Borough Briggs. "We are all looking to build on that fine result against Arbroath in a ground where our record is more than reasonable. We want to get our away form going after a couple of disappointing outings."

Match Report
O'Donoghue on the spot in Elgin win Two penalties from Ross O'Donoghue helped Elgin to a 4-2 win over Queen's Park at Borough Briggs. Jason Crooks gave City the lead after just two minutes, firing home from 12 yards before O'Donoghue netted his first from the spot on 27 minutes after a James Brough handball. O'Donoghue then scored his second pen on 68 minutes after Daryll Meggatt's foul on Brian Cameron to make it 3-0. A Mark Nicolson own goal gave the Spiders hope of an unlikely comeback but Elgin restored their three goal advantage just two minutes later when David Niven fired home from the edge of the penalty area. Michael O'Hara did score a second for the visitors in stoppage time but it was too little too late.
