Jack bemoans Kaczan loss Elgin boss Ross Jack believes a case of mistaken identity has cost him Paul Kaczan for the visit of Berwick. Paul Miller is away on RAF duty and Neil MacDonald returns from suspension, but Kaczan drops out following a red card at Stranraer at the weekend, with Jack believing that the wrong man was punished. Jack said: "Paul maintains his innocence and I am fairly sure that both Paul and Stranraer's Craig Malcolm were wrongly sent off. The referee had a good game but I think he has called that one wrongly. "It would have been great to have Paul available as it is a huge game and he was flying after scoring his first goal in ages." Berwick make the trip in good spirits after defeating Queen's Park 3-1 on Saturday. Manager Jimmy Crease will be without six players for the long trip north, though. Defenders Elliot Smith, Jamie Ewart and Chris McLeod are all expected to miss out through knocks with forwards Craig O'Reilly and Fraser McLaren also sidelined. Expectant father Kevin Gordon is not making the trip, meaning Crease will be forced to look to his youth ranks for replacements. Crease said: "We are down to the bare bones and Elgin will be as buoyant as us after winning at the weekend. "We beat them at our place recently and we will take confidence from that and, who knows, we may just force ourselves into the promotion play-off race yet."

Currie brace boosts Berwick A second-half brace from Lee Currie boosted Berwick's Division Three play-off hopes following a 2-1 win at Elgin. Elgin striker Craig Gunn went close in the first minute but Berwick keeper Ian McCaldon reacted well to tip his long-range effort round the post in what turned out to be the best chance of the first half. Currie opened the scoring with a stunning long-range effort in the 53rd minute which flew into the bottom corner of the net. Gunn levelled matters in the 71st minute when he turned home Brian Cameron's cross from inside the six-yard box but Currie netted the winner just seven minutes from time with a composed finish from 12 yards after being set up by Alan Brazil.
