Banned pair miss outElgin City are without two banned players against Arbroath.Borough Briggs boss Ross Jack has a full squad to pick from with the exception of midfielder Mark Nicolson and striker Craig Frizzell who are both suspended.City go into their game on a high after defeating Ayr United last Saturday in The Co-operative Insurance Cup to earn a trip to face Hearts at Tynecastle in the next round.Jack is anticipating a tough encounter saying: "Arbroath have recruited well and have brought a lot of experience on board but it is important that we build on the momentum we have created."Winning at home on the first day would be a great way to start the new season as it took us far too long to get three points from a home fixture last season."Arbroath could be missing up to four players for the trip.Defender Alan Rattray is suspended as is midfielder Jay Shields with winger David Dimilta also absent because of work commitments. The experienced Kieran McAnespie is a major doubt with injury and player/manager Sheerin will leave a decision on his inclusion until the last possible moment.Sheerin said: "It is the real bread and butter now and we will have a better idea of where we are as a side after this game."Anything we had gained from the cup ties against Dunfermline would have been a bonus but we are certainly after three points from this game."
Arbroath claim thriller
Keith Gibson and Josh Falkingham netted twice as Arbroath recorded a 5-3 win at Elgin.
Gibson opened the scoring with a 20-yard drive after 16 minutes before Paul Millar`s neat finish hauled the home side level seven minutes into the second half.
Parity was shortlived, however, as David McGowan restored Arbroath's lead within a minute with a 12-yard drive.
Gibson then grabbed his second of the afternoon with another long-range effort and Falkingham added a fourth with 20 minutes left, finding the bottom corner from 12 yards.
But two goals in five minutes put Elgin back in the game as first Brian Cameron slotted home Barry Wilson`s corner before Millar headed in Allan Dempsie`s cross from close range.
However, the visitors secured the points with seven minutes left as Marc McCulloch`s delivery was met by the head of Falkingham, who made no mistake from six yards.
