Match Preview

Elgin keen to take sting out of Wasps Elgin defender Mark Durnan is available to face Third Division leaders Alloa after a one-match ban. Paul Kaczan is out a groin injury and Graeme Beveridge, who was injured in Tuesday night's 6-1 success over Peterhead, is struggling, while Mark Nicolson and Paul Millar face fitness tests. New signing Graham Tatters could be included if international clearance comes through in time from his former club in Thailand. Manager Ross Jack said: "We have to build on our success in midweek but we will only do that if we don't rest on our laurels. "We beat Alloa earlier in the season but that does not come into my thinking as they have changed their side a bit since then." Alloa should be at full strength for the clash, with midfielder Steve Masterton available after a knee injury. The Wasps lost last week for the first time in 15 games while they also suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat against their hosts earlier in the season. Manager Paul Hartley said: "We actually played really well last weekend and sometimes results like that happen. It is all about how the players react and I am sure they will react positively. "I watched Elgin in midweek and they were very impressive against Peterhead so we are in for a tough afternoon but it is a game we are looking forward to. "They won well against us back in September but I am sure that will have no bearing on this one."

Match Report

Alloa lose their marbles at Elgin Table-toppers Alloa fell to a resounding 3-0 defeat at the hands of Elgin, seeing their lead at the top of the Scottish Third Division cut to five points. Elgin, who beat Alloa 5-0 earlier in the season, keep in touch with Annan who occupy the final play-off place. City got off to the perfect start, going ahead within a minute when Paul Millar struck beyond Scott Bain from the edge of the box. St Johnstone loanee May was proving Alloa's biggest threat but Paul Hartley's Wasps struggled in front of goal. The home side doubled their lead 10 minutes before half-time, Craig Gunn claiming his 12th league goal of the season by latching onto Brian Cameron's pass and sliding it into the left-hand corner. The comprehensive victory was confirmed in the 67th minute when Stuart Leslie was on hand to convert Brian Cameron's cut-back.
