Match Preview

Dunn missing for Shire East Stirling will be without defender David Dunn, who is suspended, and the injured Craig Tully for the visit of Stranraer. However, Craig Donaldson takes his place in Jim McInally's squad after returning from suspension, while fit-again Alex Walker is also included. The Shire have not scored in their last seven games, much to the dismay of coach David Nicholls who is targeting an improvement. He said: "We have scored two against Stranraer already this season on ALBA Cup duty so hopefully that is a good omen. "The boss and I are happy with the job that the guys are doing all over the pitch but we are just not getting a break in front of goal." Stranraer boss Keith Knox welcomes defenders Romauld Bouadji and Paul Murphy to the travelling party for the clash. The duo have proved their fitness and return alongside striker Stuart McColm. Knox has decided to forgive his men for squandering a three-goal lead at Montrose last week, although he has told them that he does not want to see a repeat. He said: "I was really, really angry last Saturday when we went from being three up to drawing the game. "They all want to keep playing football and that is why they kept on attacking and it is difficult to criticise guys for wanting to play football. "If we get ahead against East Stirling we have to stay ahead."

Match Report

One goal for Armand Armand One`s goal after less than a minute was enough to give Stranraer victory at East Stirling and keep them top of the table. Just 37 seconds had passed when the striker's downward header found the back of the net from 12 yards. Stung by conceding the early goal, the home side registered their first real effort after nine minutes when Kevin Cawley's 12-yard shot was saved by Stranraer goalkeeper David Mitchell. But as the first half wore on, East Stirling were forced into long-range efforts as the visitors comfortably went into the break with their lead intact. The home side improved in the second half following the introduction of midfielder Kevin Watts, who came on for John Neil after 63 minutes. Scott Johnston came closest with a fierce 12-yard shot that was tipped over by Mitchell.
