Match Preview

McInally ready to bounce back Head coach Jim McInally has a full squad to choose from as East Stirling look to bounce back against Montrose. McInally saw his side lose six goals to Peterhead in midweek ALBA Cup duty but assistant David Nicholls insists the spirit at the club is strong. Nicholls said: "We more than matched Peterhead for the opening hour and then had a collapse, however we are getting on with things. "Training was excellent and fast paced on Thursday night and we are sure we will see a positive response from the players come three o'clock on Saturday. "Having competition for places will be good as it means everyone will have to play well this weekend to keep their jersey." Montrose have added former Dundee striker Connor Thompson to their squad ahead of their trip to Ochilview. Thompson could feature but midfielder Terry Masson remains out with a medial ligament injury. Player/ boss Steven Tweed also missing because of a hamstring problem. Links Park boss Tweed is looking for his men to bounce back after seeing Queen's Park net an injury time penalty to take all three points from their meeting last Saturday. Tweed said: "We played well against Queen's Park and the game could have went either way, however we have to ensure that we turn good play into points and grab an important victory. "A win would work wonders for our new look side's confidence."

Match Report

Stirling bounce back East Stirling bounced back from last week's opening day defeat to beat Montrose 2-1 at Ochilview Park. The opening goal of the game came in the 25th minute through Montrose striker Paul Tosh. Daryl Nichol was fouled inside the box by East Stirling's Paul Hay and Tosh made no mistake with the resulting penalty, smashing it into the bottom right-hand corner. Stirling left it late to mount a comeback but equalised in the 76th minute through the second penalty of the game. This time it was Stephen Maguire's turn to fire home from 12 yards. James Stevenson then handed Stirling all three points when his 20 yard free-kick curled into the top corner with just two minutes remaining.
