Walker winning fitness fight Defender Alex Walker looks set to win his fitness race and be included for East Stirling`s game against Annan but full-backs Darren Kelly and Dean Richardson remain sidelined. Shire are looking for their first win in 10 games, and assistant boss David Nicholls is determined that his side will not get involved in a fight with Clyde to avoid bottom spot. Nicholls said: "After a really promising beginning to 2011 that had us moving up the table towards the outskirts of a play-off chase, things have slipped back and we need to get going again. "We want to be much more positive than fighting to avoid bottom spot, and the best way to do that is to win games, starting against Annan." Annan have defender Aaron Muirhead available after suspension for the trip and he looks set to go straight back into the starting XI as player-assistant manager Andy Aitken was sent off at the weekend. John MacBeth and Neil MacFarlane are both struggling with injury, but Graeme Bell is also included after work commitments kept him out of Saturday's trip to Elgin. A combination of a win for Annan and a defeat for Albion could see Athletic move second. And manager Harry Cairney said: "We have the chance to put a marker down in terms of our intentions for the rest of season by moving up the table, and I`m determined that we take it."

Five-star Annan thrash East Stirling Annan hammered East Stirling 5-1 to record their third win in a row and boost their promotion prospects. The visitors seized the advantage after just two minutes when Ian Harty turned home Aaron Muirhead's right-wing cross. David Cox added the second from close range with only 15 minutes gone. And things got even worse for the home side before the break when Sean O'Connor stroked in a cool finish from 12 yards. Mark Docherty made sure of the points with a fine left-foot strike two minutes after the restart And Scott Johnston's strike proved to be only a consolation for the Shire, with Graeme Bell adding the fifth in stoppage time with a clinical right-foot finish after being set up by Bryan Felvus.
