Defensive headache for McInally East Stirling will be short of defenders for their midweek home game against Albion Rovers with Alex Walker, Dean Richardson and Craig Tully all expected to remain sidelined. The Shire are on a losing run of six successive defeats and McInally is demanding an improvement following the surrendering of a one goal lead at the weekend at 10 man Annan. Manager Jim McInally, whose side lost out to Annan at the weekend, said: "Without those three guys it seemed that we were unable to defend properly and that's really disappointing. "Annan lost a man to a sending off, but changed things around and we struggled to cope and went down 2-1 and that was really disappointing. "Albion Rovers are coming here after a bad result themselves and we have to be able to handle their front men." Rovers will include new signing Darren Smith in their squad. Smith has been signed a short-term deal and could make his debut, but Chris Boyle and John Gemmell both sustained knocks at the weekend and are doubtful, while Scott Chaplain and Steven Canning are also nursing injuries. Manager Paul Martin said: "I'll look to freshen things up as best I can and Darren coming in gives me options. A win over East Stirling will certainly help some tired legs. "There were a few tired legs at the weekend and it was a disappointing performance. "We've lost other games this season where I've been happy with our performance, but that was not one."

Albion thwarted by East Stirling Albion's promotion push was dealt a blow as they were held to a goalless draw by second-bottom East Stirling. Going into the game knowing that victory would move them to within three points of league-leaders Stranraer, the visitors seemed determined to attack from the off. They could have taken the lead in just the 11th minute but Chris Hamilton saw his effort sneak past the post. It was all one-way traffic thereafter as Albion dominated possession, although their final ball was leaving a lot to be desired. That is not to say East Stirling do not deserve credit for a spirited rearguard which kept Rovers at bay, despite the best efforts of Robert Love who missed an excellent chance to earn his side the points.
