Match Preview

Pair back to boost Fifers East Fife boss John Robertson welcomes back on-loan Falkirk midfielder Stewart Murdoch and on-loan Hibs striker Kurtis Byrne to his squad to face Stenhousemuir. The pair were excluded from the Scottish Cup tie against Forfar three weeks ago at the request of their parent clubs but are available for league action. Robertson has admitted that he has no idea what his starting XI will be as he has not seen any of his players for the past two weeks to check on their physical condition. He said: "The volunteers have done a great job clearing the pitch so I will see who turns up and take things from there. "It is not ideal but I would imagine that Stenhousemuir are in much the same boat." Stenhousemuir are without four key players. Goalkeeper Chris McCluskey, midfielder Ross Clark and strikers Scott Dalziel and Simon Lynch all continue to be absent because of knocks. St Mirren youngsters Ally Love and Mark McLellan have returned to Love Street and defenders Steven Thomson and Scott Fusco remain out on loan to leave the Warriors short on numbers. Manager John Coughlin is looking for his men to pick up their first league win in four games. He said: "East Fife have certainly been boosted the introduction of John Robertson but we have the players that are capable of taking something from this game. "We have Alex Williams available and that always gives you the chance of nicking a goal."

Match Report

Crawford brace as Stenhousemuir hit for six Veteran striker Stevie Crawford scored his first goals of the season as East Fife thumped 10-man Stenhousemuir 6-0 at Bayview Stadium. David Muir started the rout in the 19th minute when he tapped home from six yards after being set up by Robert Sloan before quickfire goals from Crawford and Craig Johnstone put Fife in control. First Crawford made no mistake from close range from Sloan`s corner before Johnstone fired into the bottom corner from 18 yards. Sloan got in on the act on the stroke of half-time as he converted a penalty after Ali Brown brought down Steven Hislop. Robert Linn produced a stunning effort from 30 yards which found the top corner in the 61st minute and Crawford added his second from six yards seven minutes later. Stenhousemuir`s sorry afternoon was complete when Alex Williams was shown a straight red card for a foul on Scott Durie.
