Match Preview

Sons strive for first win Bottom club Dumbarton entertain Falkirk looking for their first win of the season in the Scottish First Division. Only long-term absentees Kevin Nicol and Pat Walker will miss the clash, with manager Alan Adamson boasting an otherwise fully-fit squad. Adamson's side drew 2-2 at Raith in their last outing and the Dumbarton boss is looking to build on that. He said: "Getting a point at Kirkcaldy is our best result at this level for nearly 17 years so we are looking to go and build on that instantly against Falkirk. "They have a good young side but they have not got their season going yet so hopefully we can prevent that from happening for another week. It would be great to get that first win as we are entering an important period with Airdrie and then East Stirling in the Scottish Cup." Falkirk welcome back midfielder Jay Fulton but lose striker Sean Higgins to injury for the clash. Fulton returns to the fold after a knee injury however Higgins is the latest player sidelined after being injured in training. Craig Sibbald's hip problem also keeps him out. The Bairns are determined to get the win they need to start pulling away from the lower half of the table. Technical Director Alex Smith said: "We have drawn our last four games after being ahead in them all so we are pretty frustrated at the moment. "We were eight minutes away from beating the league leaders (Dunfermline) in our last match so we are not too far away from getting it right. Hopefully we can get ahead and get the three points from this one."
