Deveronvale's fantastic cup run came to an end as they were outclassed by the first division outfit.

Deveronvale's only real chance of the first half came when former Elgin City player Fraser Bremner took the ball up the middle of the park before releasing a shot which was well wide of Kenny Arthur's right-hand post.

With Partick in cruise control, they took a deserved lead on the half hour mark.

A corner from Derek Young was not cleared properly by Deveronvale and James Gibson fired an unstoppable shot high beyond James Blanchard.

Deveronvale started to play themselves back into the game with two great chances in a space of minutes.

First Mike McKenzie saw his shot clawed away by Arthur and then Pat Keogh was also denied by the impressive keeper.
