Tottenham run out deserved winners after a great display against a Derby side who looked out of their depth for much of the match.

Huddlestone's corner nearly finds the head of the diving Gardner who nearly reachs the ball but just couldn't grow those extra few inches needed as the ball bounces across the penalty area.

Taarabt swings in a corner towards the back post where Leacock heads the ball behind for another corner despite being unchallenged.

Defore tries to get in on the goal scoring act having a dig from 25-yards-out, but its way off target as Tottenham continue to press.

Teale gets to the by-line and whips in the cross but its cut out at the near post by Rocha who heads it away.

Pascal Chimbonda comes off as Didier Zokora gets a run out.

Darren Bent gets his first for Spurs and the fourth for his team after Chimbonda nodded the ball across the face of, Bywater tiiped the ball onto the bar and it fell to Bent who tapped home from about six inches.

Bent and Keane are combing well, Keane having the shot and forcing Bywater to parry but just before Bent can tap the rebound home Bywater throws himself onto the ball showing some quick reflects.

Keane gets into the penalty area again as Moore is taken out of the game but Bywater does well to smoother the ball before Keane can finish.

Keane and Bent combine well to give Keane the chance to make it four but the striker can only hit the side neting with his rasping shot.

Jenas floats in a free kick from the left of the box, looking for Gardner but Howard gets up well to nod the ball away.

Huddlestone plays Keane in on goal wher the Irish striker tries to curl the ball in but sends it wide of Bywater's right-hand post.

Jenas slips in Malbranque on goal who looks odd's on to get his hat trick but Bywater does well to deny the Spurs winger followed by a Leacock clearance.

Oakley swings in the corner towards the far post where Howard is lurking and gets his head to the ball but can only send it straight at Robinson.

Keane lays the ball off for Jenas who hits the ball first time and forces Bywater to turn the ball behind with a good save.

Bent plays a nice ball across the penalty area for Keane who inadvertantly knocks the ball on for Routledge where the winger buries the ball but from an offside position, Derby are in all kinds of trouble.

Jenas takes the corner and finds Gardner who heads the ball down and wide of Bywater's goal as Derby survive.

Jenas wins the ball from Earnshaw before a nice one-two with Huddlestone releases the former Newcastle player who has a decent shot and wins a corner.

Jenas takes the corner again and this time it bounces across the penalty before Gardner gets his head to the ball but only gives it to Leacock who plays the ball away from danger.

Jenas puts an outswing corner into the penalty area where Howard beats Gardner to the ball and puts it behind for another Spurs corner.

Fagan does well to take the ball past Lee on the right flank and then delivers a cross into the centre of the penalty area where Rocha clears.

Huddlestone tries to find another white shirt with a cross from the left but this time Bywater comes to deal with the cross and claims it well.

Derby have another freekick which is delivered to the edge of the area where Howard tries to flick the ball on but doesn't manage to get anywhere as Spurs clear.

Chimbonda gets forward again and tries to pick out Bent with a powerful cross which fires over the strikes head and out for a Derby throw-in.

Todd floats in a freekick for the Rams but the midfielder puts too much on the ball and its easy for Robinson to come out and catch the ball.

Chimbonda gets in a vital tackle on Earnshaw just inside the penalty area where the Welshman was just about to shoot but the French defender took the ball away with a good tackle.

Jermaine Jenas gets Spurs third after a mazy run from the halfway line took the England midfielder to the edge of the area where he fired the ball home, clipping the post as in rolled in.

Huddlestone tries a long range effort from about 30 yards but can only drill the ball high over the bar and into the crowd.

The corner is swung in by Oakley and finds the head of Howard but the striker can't direct his header goalwards and doesn't trouble Robinson.

Stephen Pearson swings in a cross looking for Howard but Gardner gets his head to the ball and gives Derby their first corner of the game.

Debry nearly get back into the game as Earnshaw is nearly but through on goal and the WElshman nearly reaches the ball but Robinson was quick off his line to slide in and clear the ball away.

Steed Malbranque gets his second goal after a good run from Chimbonda picked out Bent who turned Moore easily and laid the ball off to Malbranque who finished well.

Steed Malbranque gives Spurs the lead with a cracking shot from the edge of the area catching Bywater cold in the Derby goal.

Tyrone Mears has shaken off a calf injury he picked up in mid-week and also have new signing Benny Feilhaber on the bench. The Rams will be without Claude Davis who joins Giles Barnes on the injury list as they go in search of their first win.
