Match Report

A last-gasp goal from Dudley Campbell earned Derby County a point in a dramatic and controversial clash at Pride Park.

Derby claimed Simon Cox used a hand to cancel out Paul Dickov's strike before Graham Dorrans put the Baggies ahead only for Campbell to pounce in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

West Brom went into the match on the back of four victories and although Derby started positively, the visitors went close in the ninth minute when Cox fired just wide from a Dorrans free-kick.

But Derby were working hard to close West Brom down, although their determination to fight for every loose ball spilled over on the half hour when Dickov and Dorrans were booked after a melee in the centre circle.

Despite the fluency of West Brom's approach play, they were limited to half chances and it was Derby who almost scored in the 40th minute when a Gary Teale free-kick took a deflection and forced Scott Carson into a superb reaction save.

But a minute later, Carson was beaten when Dickov turned on the edge of the area and his shot hit Jonas Olsson before crashing in off the underside of the bar.

Dickov tested Carson again four minutes into the second half with a 20-yard shot and Rob Hulse almost turned in a low cross from Robbie Savage two minutes later.

Although Olsson glanced a header onto the roof of the net, West Brom were being given no time on the ball, although they delivered a warning in the 74th minute when Cox just failed to head Chris Brunt's teasing cross from the right in at the back post.

But the pair combined again in the 82nd minute and this time Cox found the net, although Derby's players were convinced the striker had used a hand to turn in the cross.

West Brom looked to have snatched victory when Dorrans smashed in a rising drive at the near post, but Derby had the last word when Campbell headed in Lee Hendrie's cross.
