An effective second half performance from Spurs gives them a deserved 3-0 lead.

The visiting supporters are cheering every pass their team is making and this is just a mocking off a poor Derby side that are most definately faced with a season in the Championship next season.

Derby's morale is non-existent now and the game is as good as over.

Derby hit Spurs on the counter attack and it was substitute Mile Sterjovski who managed to get a shot off at goal and won a corner off Chimbonda. The corner though was cleared by Jenas and Spurs resume control of the game.

Tottenham are showboating now and Derby are getting frustrated with not being able to get the ball from the visitors, Ramos's men are playing keep ball and doing it well.

GOAL! DERBY COUNTY 0 - 1 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (KEANE) Robbie Keane taps in easily from eight yards out as Roy Carroll parried Malbranque's shot into his path.

A let off for Derby as Robbie Keane connected sweetly with the ball and struck an effort directly off Roy Carroll's far post, the linesman though was for some reason standing with his flag up even though Keane was no where near in an offside position

Dean Leacock did well to get down the right hand side and fire a dangerous ball across the face of goal for Radek Cerny to parry and then Giles Barnes to strike the ball wide from a good chance just on the edge of the area.

Kenny Miller is rightly reprimanded for his very late challenge on his fellow countryman Alan Hutton by Martin Atkinson.

Berbatov causes some problems almost immediately for Derby as his movement drew Andy Todd out of position, but Robbie Keane couldn't capitalise on the space in front of him and mis-hit his shot wide of the mark. Danger for Derby though.

Spurs have made a much better start to the second half and look more threatening in the last third of the pitch, but I think Berbatov's introduction is imminent.

Yet another chance for Spurs as O'Hara whipped in a decent ball towards the back post, Kaboul knocked it down for Tom Huddlestone who struck the ball down towards the corner for Roy Carroll to make a superb save to deny Spurs once again.

Alan Hutton almost opened his Spurs goalscoring record and perhaps should have done much better after some good work in the middle from O'Hara who played Hutton down the side of the area but the Scot sliced his shot and it flew wide.

A frantic start to the second half with Derby coming so close to breaking the deadlock, Kenny Miller struck a powerful strike from just outside the area which was parried by Cerny and Derby almost putting the rebound away but Spurs survive.

Half time at Pride Park and a very dull opening period with neither side able to break the deadlock.

Alan Hutton who has been solid so far for Spurs did well to get his body in the way of Stephen Pearson's shot which did look to be heading goalwards.

Neither side can keep possession of the football and the game still remains very scrappy, it's like a game of pinball at Pride Park. Juande Ramos will no doubt have something to say to his side at the half time break.

Tottenham won a corner after some pressure on Derby, Lennon whipped the delivery into the area for Spurs with Emanuel Villa doing well to head clear to the edge of the box, with Jermaine Jenas striking a shot which flew way over the crossbar.

Darren Bent looks very frustrated up front for Tottenham and took that frustration out on Andy Todd with a late challenge swiping away Todd's feet, but the referee somehow decided not to give him a yellow card.

A superb chance for Spurs to take the lead as Aaron Lennon tremendously got to the byline and whipped a dangerous ball into the penalty area with Younes Kaboul arriving from nowhere and diverting the ball straight at Roy Carroll in the Derby goal.

The game has been very scrappy so far, Chimbonda has looked Spurs most dangerous player going forward and Pearson has impressed for Derby in the opening half an hour.

Aaron Lennon was furious just a moment ago as he thought he was brought down unlawfully inside the penalty area by Andy Todd, but Martin Atkinson was having none of it and waved play on.

Kenny Miller greedily snaps at a shot just outside the penalty area instead of playing the ball wide to Savage, Savage wasn't happy as Miller's shot curled high and wide of the goal.

No wonder Gus Poyet and Juande Ramos are out in their technical area, Spurs have been very poor so far and the manager is screaming at his side to step it up a gear.

Another great chance for Derby and it should be 1-0, Stephen Pearson made a surging run down the middle and played a nice little ball in for Giles Barnes, but Barnes through on goal put his shot wide of the post.

Tottenham's final ball has been very poor so far, Darren Bent has been dominated by Alan Stubbs so far and has not been involved in the game what so ever, he does not look like a man fighting for his first team place at the minute.

Derby are taking the game to Spurs and have looked dangerous on the counter attack so far, Spurs will have to guard against complacency if they are to get a result against bottom of the table Derby.

Another good save from Roy Carroll and another decent chance for Spurs, Steed Malbranque cleverly dummied the ball just on the edge of the area and Robbie Keane was on the end of it to curl a shot to the far corner, but Carroll saved well.

Derby have made a very encouraging start and Spurs look very nervous at the back. Paul Jewell will be looking to capitalise on Spurs missing Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate this afternoon.

Derby's Darren Moore has just about recovered from a hamstring problem to feature in Paul Jewell's starting line-up, though Andy Todd misses out also. Hossam Ghaly is ineligible and new signing Mile Sterjovski gets a place on the bench.
