Match Preview

Vincelot blow for Daggers Dagenham & Redbridge are set to be without midfielder Romain Vincelot for the visit of Swindon. Frenchman Vincelot , who has been converted from a full-back by manager John Still this season, suffered a head injury in scoring his fifth goal of the season at Colchester in midweek. The game was delayed for six minutes while Vincelot was treated for a gash caused by a collision with former Dagger Magnus Okuonghae but he has not been ruled out of contention for this weekend. Still could hand Billy Bingham a rare start in his place or move Peter Gain into the middle and recall Jon Nurse to the starting line-up. Defenders Will Antwi and Abu Ogogo are both still sidelined with hamstring injuries and could be back in 10 days or so. David Prutton misses the trip as Swindon look to get back to winning ways. Prutton, having scored Town`s first to get them back in Tuesday`s 3-2 home defeat to Plymouth, was shown his second red card of the season late on and will now serve a two-match suspension. His absence means Simon Ferry is likely to step into midfield alongside Jonathan Douglas, Paul Caddis and Jon-Paul McGovern. Another player to miss out at Victoria Road will be left-back Alan Sheehan who went off nursing a hamstring strain after just 15 minutes, with Michael Rose certain to deputise. The enforced changes mean Danny Wilson must change a Town XI he has kept faith with for three consecutive matches. Forward David Ball (hamstring) returned to training on Thursday and could possibly be in contention for the weekend, although the game comes too soon for Charlie Austin (shoulder) who has started light training.

Match Report

Scannell earns Daggers win Damian Scannell put in a man-of-the-match performance on his first league start for Dagenham & Redbridge as they came behind to beat Swindon Town 2-1. The final score looked an unlikely one after just 50 seconds, when Robins left-back Michael Rose's cross was met by Thomas Dossevi, whose header looped over goalkeeper Tony Roberts and into the net. Bas Savage forced a point-blank save out of Swindon keeper David Lucas, but otherwise the visitors were comfortable in possession in a largely uneventful first period. The turning point came three minutes after the restart when Gavin Tomlin found Scannell on the left and the former Southend winger Scannell took a touch infield, before burying his shot into the bottom right-hand corner. The home side suddenly took control, with Lucas making two more saves from Scannell, before the ball fell to Savage after 80 minutes, which he placed into the net on the turn from 10 yards out. Swindon, including substitute debutant Billy Bodin, pushed for an equaliser, but Roberts made a superb save from a Jon-Paul McGovern shot as Daggers held on for three points.
