Match Preview

Triple boost for Daggers Medy Elito, Kevin Maher and Dominic Green are all in contention to be named on the bench for Dagenham when they entertain Plymouth. Elito has not featured for the Daggers since the club's 1-0 win at Bradford in late August due to a groin injury. Fellow midfielder Maher returned from his broken metatarsal to start last Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Southend while Green (knee) was a late substitute as he also stepped up his recovery, but neither featured in last weekend's league loss at Cheltenham. Striker Sam Williams has missed the last two matches with a knee injury and was this week ruled out for the rest of the season after a scan discovered ligament as well as cartilage damage. Fellow forward Josh Scott (knee) is not yet ready to make his return while Luke Howells (knee) and Rob Edmans (broken leg) remain long-term absentees. Dagenham welcome bottom club Plymouth to Victoria Road having lost six and won one of their last seven matches in all competitions. Argyle caretaker player-manager Carl Fletcher is eligible after suspension. Fletcher received a three-match ban after seeing red at Southend on September 24, but the midfielder could now pick himself for the clash. Striker Warren Feeney is also back in contention after returning from international duty with Northern Ireland. The forward featured in his country's European Championship qualifiers against Estonia and Italy, emerging unscathed, and could go straight into the starting line-up for the Pilgrims. Plymouth have yet to win away from home this season but, after one victory and a draw in their past three matches, Fletcher will be hoping to end their difficulties on the road in Essex. A win could see Argyle jump off the bottom of League Two, provided results elsewhere go in their favour.

Match Report

Plymouth captain Simon Walton scored a last-minute penalty to earn his side their first away win of the season - a 3-2 victory at Dagenham. With the game seemingly headed for a draw, Dagenham defender Damien McCrory was sent off for a foul on Issac Vassell in the 90th minute and Walton held his nerve to snatch the points. Teenager Matt Lecointe lit up a dull first half with his first goal for the club on 20 minutes. The 26-year-old fired in Ladjie Soukouna's low cross to give his side a precious half-time lead. Soon after the break Plymouth doubled their advantage, when Conor Hourihane spectacularly volleyed in his first goal for the Pilgrims on 52 minutes. But six minutes later Daggers were back in the game when Scott Doe headed McCrory's corner past keeper Jake Cole, and on 68 minutes the home side were level. Another McCrory corner was headed in at the far post by Jon Nurse. But the visitors had the final say, when Walton blasted home from 12 yards to win the match.
