Roberts reaches landmark Dagenham & Redbridge goalkeeper Tony Roberts will make his 500th competitive appearance for the club against Peterborough. The 41-year-old made his debut away to Leigh RMI in August 2000 and will be between the posts as John Still`s men look to achieve survival. On-loan Bristol City striker John Akinde will make his first start for the club alongside Bas Savage in attack. Akinde made his long-awaited debut at Exeter on Saturday after nearly three months on the sidelines with a groin problem and will start as Oliver Lee misses out. Midfielder Solomon Taiwo is out with an ankle injury so Peter Gain will continue to partner Romain Vincelot in the centre. The Frenchman - converted from full-back by Still this year - scored his 11th goal of the season at the weekend. Mark Little will return for Peterborough. The right-back missed the 3-3 draw with Bournemouth on Friday night through suspension after he was sent-off at Bristol Rovers, but he will come into Darren Ferguson`s side. Utility-man Charlie Lee filled in at full-back on Friday night but should return to central midfield. Goalkeeper Joe Lewis was at fault for two goals in the six-goal thriller but Ferguson will keep faith with the former England Under-21 man as Posh look for a vital win in their quest for promotion. Midfielder Lee Frecklington has had a hernia operation and will be sidelined for several more weeks. Striker Dave Hibbert is absent as he steps up his comeback from a dislocated knee suffered back in November.

Ball at the double for Posh David Ball's early double for Peterborough proved enough to condemn Dagenham & Redbridge to a second successive defeat and saw the strugglers drop into the relegation zone. Ball opened the scoring after only three minutes when former Daggers forward Craig Mackail-Smith laid the ball off to his strike partner who slotted home past Tony Roberts in the keeper's 500th game for the home side. The former Manchester City striker, making only his third start of the season, then doubled the lead after eight minutes when the ball fell kindly to him in the box and he made no mistake with the finish. Oliver Lee had missed a chance in the third minute for the Daggers as he fired his shot across goal and wide. Dagenham enjoyed plenty of possession in the second half but failed to penetrate a sturdy Peterborough defence. Mackail-Smith found the side-netting in a rare Posh chance after the break, before firing the best opportunity of the second half just wide after good play from Ball and George Boyd.
