Still sticks by players Dagenham & Redbridge will be unchanged for the visit of Bristol Rovers. Boss John Still remains without defenders Abu Ogogo and Will Antwi so will field the same XI which were thumped 3-0 at Bournemouth last weekend. Former Arsenal right-back Ogogo is struggling with an ankle injury while Antwi has a hamstring problem. Both are expected to be out for a fortnight. That means former Tottenham youth product Phil Ifil will continue at right-back after he signed last week while striker Gavin Tomlin is still searching for his first goal for the club. The Daggers won their last home game and a repeat performance could see Still's side climb off the foot of the table. Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope will be without the services of left-back Gary Sawyer for the trip. Sawyer was dismissed in the 70th minute of the 0-0 draw with Brentford for two bookable offences and will complete a one-match suspension. It is expected that Jeff Hughes will fill in at left-back, allowing Wayne Brown to step into the team in a left midfield role but other options are available such as Ben Swallow and 18-year-old Mark Cooper. Other than the absence of Sawyer, Trollope will have a fully-fit squad to choose from for the trip to London where they hope to get back on track after managing only one win in six league games so far this season.

Hughes steals the show A hat-trick from Jeff Hughes capped a clinical performance from Bristol Rovers and earned them all three points at Dagenham as they romped to a 3-0 win. After home striker Gavin Tomlin wasted two opportunities to put the Daggers in front, they were punished on 27 minutes when Hughes walked through a series of half-hearted challenges in the area before calmly slotting past goalkeeper Tony Roberts. Further haphazard defending from the hosts allowed him his second five minutes later when confusion between Scott Doe and Romain Vincelot allowed Chris Lines to play in Hughes, who jumped to stab his shot past the advancing Roberts. The introduction of new signing Bas Savage added life to a limp home performance on 66 minutes, and Tomlin should have done better than blast at keeper Mikkel Andersen when the former Bristol City man extravagantly played him in. Rovers were deserved winners, though, and Hughes scored his third of the afternoon from the penalty spot on 87 minutes after Mark Arber brought down John Akinde when through on goal.
